Blandina Fashion Design Academy is establish with the mission of providing less privileged, marginalized or disenfranchised young women in society with knowledge and skills on dress making (Tailoring) that will enable them to have an independent and sustainable economy in future. In addition to impacting the lives of those that would otherwise have no means of sustaining a meaningful life, society as a whole will benefit by elevating a large group of disadvantaged people, spur economic activity in the Tolon district and encourage community development in the area. The vision of Blandina Fashion Design Academy is to establish a technical / vocational Training center with the mission of providing less privileged, marginalized or disenfranchised youth in the Tolon District a life-path forward that can lead to an independent, stable and sustainable economic future. The Academy will provide students with the knowledge and skills in tailoring and dressmaking, which upon graduation; will enable them to have an independent income producing trade. In addition, the training center will bring economic development to the region. The objectives of Blandina Fashion Design Academy include; Providing technical knowledge and skills to women and girls through training on dress making within three years of active learning. Also, to facilitate skills training to the youth to improve income generation that would enhance self-sufficiency and self-reliance in the Tolon district. The organization will build a school, equip the facility with appropriate materials, develop a teaching curriculum, employ experienced teaching and administrative personnel, provide scheduled learning and produce products for sale. The services provided will be student teaching and contractual sewing services. The products offered will be garment production. The uniqueness of the company is that it is a combination of academia, sales and entrepreneurship.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This is a project when implemented would improve the lives of 2000 youth most especially less privilege women and girls. This can be measured by the number of successful trainees establishing their own enterprises. It would create enabling environment for the youth to start their own enterprises, create employment opportunities for the youth and serve as a source income generation for women and girls to enhance their lives through self employment and self-reliance. Also, this programme will bring massive development and transformations to the direct beneficiaries, their families and the communities at large when implemented.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The Academy will provide a convenient teaching and learning environment for prospective students. Good quality and affordable products to garment buyers. Promote sales of specialty garments during festivities and celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Eid alAdha and Eid alFitr. Promote sewing services and contracts via marketing strategies; affordable pricing, engage in robust direct marketing to local organizations, use webpage and social media platforms to advertise products and services, negotiate for sewing contracts to local vendors and recruit students through relationships created at local academic institutions. Engage in direct Sale, retailers, wholesalers and agents. Good partnership relationship with schools, staff and equipment vendors. The sustainability of the project is grantee because, the program is design envisages continuity every year. The internal funds generated from the Academy will be the main source of funding for the business. Also, continues support from philanthropies and other benevolent organizations and institutions will help sustain the program. Currently the company is in need of funds to implement the programme. The Academy needs start-up capital of eight thousand five hundred dollars ($8,500.00) to start operation of the business.

Born on 28th February, 1988, Mr. Hamza Paul Fuseini hails from the Garizegu community in the Sagnarigu Municipality. A professional Agricultural officer by training, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Technology, Degree from the University for Development Studies. Mr. Paul has over five years experience in leadership, teambuilding, project management, administration and community developmental work. - Responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the enterprise. I have held several positions such as field officer, Project Lead and Administrator during my previous work with Transforming Rural Women and Youth Life Foundation (TRUWAYLIF). I supervised the implementation of projects funded by the UNDP/Adaptation Fund, The American Ambassadors Special Self-Help Program (U.S Embassy in Ghana) and Market Development for Northern region (MADE) project. I have the privilege to serve in various positions in my academics and in society; I am aspired to be a great leader and an influencer to society I found myself. I have always desired to serve and to bring transformation into people's lives. Based on these inherent abilities, I worked hard to bring change and development into my communities. I had more experienced as a Team leader or a team builder in most of my work places including MoFA where I did my Nabco internship.
