Possible method of electret preparation

For the preparation of the electret, the combination of two known phenomena can be used - the distribution of space charges in a strong electric field and the distribution of ions of different densities in a strong gravitational field, i.e. in ultracentrifugation. Separation of particles of different densities in solution CsCl is a commonly used technique especially in medicine, biochemistry and biology. This solution in ultracentrifugation produces concentration and therefore density gradient. Lithium iodide LiI is soluble in acetone and can therefore be expected to be soluble also in methacrylic acid methyl ester (Plexiglas monomer). Furthermore, it can be assumed that the Li cation is lighter than this monomer and the I anion is heavier. If we apply a strong electric field = > 10 kV/cm to this solution, a partial separation will occur of the ions and polymerisation is triggered by the addition of the initiator. When the field is switched off, the ion separation should be permanent and the resulting polymer will have the properties of an electret. If we do the same in ultracentrifuge, the gravitational acceleration will contribute to the ion separation. Increase separation can be estimated to be one to three orders of magnitude greater, and therefore a much stronger electret. This reasoning is purely theoretical and needs to be verified experimentally.

Depending on the electric field strength achieved, the electret thus prepared can be used to produce an electret microphone, electret loudspeaker, electrostatic electric motor and possibly for electrostatic levitation.

I have no plans in that direction. I have no experience in business and at my age I don't have the strength to start in this field.

Your profile

I am 70 years old, I studied physical chemistry at the faculty of natural science, but I have basically not worked in this field. About half of my professional life I worked as a programmer, the other half as an economist with a focus on budgets and calculations. I have been retired since the age of 63 and have pursued my hobbies of science, technology and inventing. Unfortunately only to the idea stage as I don't have the resources, capabilities or connections to test the functionality and quality of these ideas. Since I don't have many years left to live, I decided to submit these ideas to this contest where they can serve directly or as inspiration for other solutions. These ideas are mainly in the area of energy conversion.
