Explain your idea in details:
India generates loads of waste from weddings. My ideas focusses on reducing this waste significantly and at the same time implementing eco-friendly ideas. My ideas has many solutions like seed paper, bamboos, solar designer lamps, etc. This model will have its main revenue stream as consultancy charges.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Every action has an equal, and opposite reaction Our ideas would Socially impact the quality of environment. This concept of Green Weddings is completely associated with reducing the waste generation due to weddings. It will also promote rural industries like pottery, handicrafts, etc. Our ideas will Economically impact the people by helping them save at least one-third of what they would normally spend. It will also promote Aatmanirbharta.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Plantable Wedding Invitations: Wedding Cards to be printed on Seed Paper, which will further grow into herbs or flowers. Generally, one seed paper can grow 5 types of plants. (plant would always remind them of the wedding) Fabrics used in decoration can either be properly reused or can be tailored to make dresses for poor children. (act of kindness) Leftover food instead of discarding should be donated to NGOs, used to feed poor children. ( what better way to start a new life than with smile ) Instead of using plastic antiques and artificial flowers we could use natural flowers(generating aroma), feathers, bamboos, canes, etc. These are degradable and upon dumping replenish the soil. Further avoid the use of Chinese low-quality lights, and rather use solar lamps for decoration. Even natural flowers could be reused by converting to natural colors and to make incense sticks. Gifting cars has been a long-standing custom, then why not go for an electric car. ( low running cost and environment friendly) Instead of firecrackers, eco friendly hot air lanterns can be lit to celebrate the occasion. Clink-clanky Cutlery - We would avoid the use of single-use plastic and instead use earthen mud cutlery (like kullhad glasses, spoons, plates)
