Published on September 13, 2021 um 08:24

Explain your idea in details:

Our objectives of the proposed cassava farming for Garri and Dried High Quality Cassava Peel DHQCP production project are: To maximize profit in the short run; To realize a profit differential on yearly basis; and To sustain the improvement in productivity and market capacity over time. Our innovative processing technology for converting fresh peels into high quality cassava peel (HQCP) mash for use as livestock feed has been developed. The process is simple and can be carried out by small-scale processors, more than 80% of them women, to transform waste into a valuable feed resource, generate new incomes, create employment, improve livelihoods, and clean up the environment around cassava processing centers. The various steps followed in processing peels into DHQCP are: 1. Sorting 2. Grating 3. Pressing 4. Sieving and they will all be done mechanically.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

This project will impact positively in terms of food availability on over 5000000 Populaces of Akwa Ibom State and beyond within the first two years space after the investment. and immediate jobs creations of not less than 55. Our idea is of beneficial to all ages. Cassava especially in the form of Garri is one of the most popular and widely consumed food crops in Nigeria. Because it is such an important food in our dear country and an extremely versatile crop, it is in fact, the cornerstone of food security in Nigeria. The competing needs for cassava cut across both human and animal consumption. It is fast becoming a popular raw material in industrial production and is now a preferred material for making biofuels. As Nigerias population continues to grow rapidly, the demand for food staples like cassava is increasing. This high demand for various forms of processed cassava is pushing prices to the ceiling. Several small-scale cassava farmers are making a fortune and additional income through this business. According to a priori investigation, the profitable way for a farmer to market his cassava is to add value to it; especially by selling it as Garri.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

We have registered a Cooperative society to house all the farmers making all to see the investment as theirs and not as mere employee. we have secured 5 hectares of farm land for the cultivations and still working on getting more because the success of the business depend on the volume of cassava we can cultivate twice a year. and we have experience management team. Only the challenge of funding is our challenge now.

What's the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something great? You only live once, if you live it right, once is enough.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve >> The fear of failure. So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/32/21472/

Yes, I have seen an easy way to make money out of off-cuts from food. By the fact that it is waste, surely it will be adding that extra income to the rural people. Don't look back but just go one since you have already made steps into the investment.
