Many micro retailers in African countries don't know when to have supply of electricity to run their business and when the next customer will walk into their store to buy things. These hampers their economic opportunities and growth. Boosty is a solution focused on scaling micro businesses in African countries through the adoption of an eco-friendly smart renewable energy systems and an e-commerce platform. The solution has two components. One is hardware while the other is software. The hardware is the eco-friendly smart renewable energy systems. This will give them access to constant power supply to run their business. The 2nd component is software, this will connect them to nearby customers to scale their businesses. The hardware helps them to save money on their energy consumption while the software help them to make money.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Expected impact of our idea on sustainable development is that it will provide clean and affordable energy to micro retailers in African countries. With access to clean and affordable energy, it helps them with access to constant power supply to run their business without hitch. This will increase their economic opportunities and growth. The software grants them access to scale their business through connection to nearby customers. The access to clean energy, reduces the number of co2 that is being released into the atmosphere because this gives them better opportunity to reduce the use of generators that release co2 into the access. It will also create job opportunities for people that are willing to start micro businesses.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our business model is Markup. This is where certain percentage is added to the cost of production. This business model comes with flexible payment options to remove limit to entry barrier. Our source of financing are grants and equity financing.
I was born February 19th, 1979. I have 10 years plus experience in Entrepreneurship. I had my Online Harvard Certificate Course in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies in 2020. I have been part of many accelerators and Incubator programs such as Because International (USA) , StartupWind Accelerator Program, (USA), DMZ Bootcamp (CANADA), Daystar Leadership Academy (Lagos, Nigeria), Future Females Business School in Partnership with UK-Tech Hub (Currently Running), PAWEN (Lagos, Nigeria), SheWorksHere (An Investment Readiness Program) etc. In my journey of entrepreneurship, I was part of a new establishment and we needed to onboard customers to access our services. So came up with strategies for onboarding customers, this was a success because we had successful onboarding of our target customers. Also because of our quality of service, we got customers referring us to other potential customers. This increased our customer base. At the moment, working on this startup idea and leading our team in terms of coordinating in achieving set out goals and objectives, supervising the execution process and evaluating our plans whether we really achieve our goals and objectives. Also, currently created strategies for signing up our target audience in this startup and target customers are currently signing up for our solution Currently, leading our team for our pre-seed funding.
