Mobile EV Chargers

Published on September 30, 2021 um 20:07

Explain your idea in details:

Electric Vehicles are the Future of Transportation Technology, but in many countries like India, Greece, Turkey, etc, people who can afford EVs do not buy them! The main reason being there are no EV charging points in their country. Laying EV charging stations across the world takes lots of time and money. Our idea of Mobile EV chargers can help to solve this problem. Mobile EV Chargers are vehicles (trucks) that store charged batteries. These vehicles arrive with a tap on your device (like mobile phones), reach wherever you are, and charge your EV. These Mobile EV chargers are vehicles filled with batteries that charge your EV and then go back to their head station to replace the discharged batteries for the next shift. As these charging stations are movable they can go to the place where it is required the most (on demand) and even to the remote villages where there is no other charging station. In this way, the number of fixed charging stations required will be decreased. Mobile EV Chargers do not require the real estate required for fixed charging stations, hence reducing the cost. Mobile EV chargers are easier to deploy as we already have the batteries and also have vehicles required to carry those batteries. This will make the transition from traditional vehicles to EVs easier and faster.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

Global warming is one of the biggest issues of this century. Combustion Engine Vehicles or simply the vehicles that use petroleum by-products as their fuel which produce up to 15% of global carbon emission. To solve this problem Electric Vehicles are replacing traditional vehicles but this transition is pretty slow and expensive. One of the reasons why the transition is slow is because EV charging stations take a lot of time and money to lay. Mobile EV Chargers are easy to deploy all over the world. Unlike traditional EV chargers which require a place(Real-estate) to fix and a connection to electric supply. Mobile EV Chargers can move anywhere, even to a remote village. This reduces the need for expensive infrastructure. As people replace their vehicles with an EV, they will help fight climate change. Mobile EV chargers solve the biggest obstacle (availability of charging points) for buying an EV. This Increases adoption of EVs thereby decreasing environmental impact. This type of charger can move anywhere so it reduces the number of fixed EV charging stations required and will save resources. Even a 1% reduction in carbon emission because of the quick and high adoption of EVs will have a significant impact on global warming.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

I have identified my market segment as Bike/Cars/other EVs. Our beachhead market would be Electric Bikes (two wheelers), the city of Hyderabad, India. The population of this city is approximately 13Mn people of which 2Mn two wheeler vehicles are running on the roads today. Our end-user profile would be EV vehicle owners (both 2 & 4 wheelers). Our Total Addressable Market (TAM) in the first year of implementation is all electric bikes in Hyderabad city, India, These new electric two wheelers are expected to charge at least 5 times per month while moving on the road. As 10% of current 2 wheelers in Hyderabad city assumed to convert to EVs by 2022. The total number of electric 2 wheelers would be 200000. Yearly expected chargings would be 200000*5*12 = 1.2Mn. The above-mentioned stats represent just 1 city (Hyderabad)in India. TAM size for the Follow-on Market is All EVs(including cars bikes trucks etc). The scalability is enormous as almost all combustion vehicles are going to be electric. The implementation plan is; Phase-1: All 2 wheelers in Hyderabad city. Phase-2: Vehicles in all metro cities in India. Similarly, as we successfully capture the Indian market we can roll out the same model globally. And the same can be replicated for 4 wheelers. The Life Time Value of an Acquired Customer is until a person poses an EV. Financial source: Own funding from family and friends. Seed funding and VC funding from investors. Collaboration with EV vehicle manufacturers like Toyota, Tesla, Ola (bike), etc. Collaboration with National and International organizations like the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).

Your profile

I am Abdullah Aarif. I am 15 years old. Studying class 11th from MS Academy, Hyderabad, India. I am a curious observer of the material universe and science behind it, hence got interested in maths and science subjects. I have decided to deep dive into one of the most interesting fields in physics known as Quantum Physics and set my goal to become a quantum physicist. I am an optimist who always looks for avenues to improve human life. Interested in exploring future technological solutions that make this planet optimized for human existence. Computer coding is my hobby. I am a quick learner and an introvert. I want to pursue a path of truth and honesty in my life. During my schooling, I have developed a Virtual Assistant for my school, based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. I have been an active participant of various National and International level competitions. I am glad to list below some of the achievements in my schooling days. Secured global 116th rank in International Life Skills Olympiad ILSO, in the year 2019. Assisted in setting up a technology startup. Student at Dexterity global (www.dexterityglobal.org) Secured 100% scholarship to study 11&12th classes integrated with IIT coaching through a national-level competitive selection program. Secured gold medal (school 1st rank) in National Science Olympiad, in the year 2021 As I am interested in science, I believe that science can bring a more sustainable future to this world. Therefore I like to contribute my ideas and thoughts to our society.

Your idea is great.
There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: The Fear of Failure.
