ANI or "Actions Network Initiative" is an app that seeks to engage the youth in different community development projects in a country or region. This proposed platform plans to incentivize prospective users when they successfully complete tasks or projects showcased on the platform. ANI, which means "harvest" in the Filipino language, not only aspires to actively partner with the youth in bringing about a certain social good, but also aims to reward their participation and goodwill through service credits. To make things more interesting, prospective users will each have a digital tree that grows and bears fruit as they accomplish more tasks or projects in the platform. ANI, therefore, is a proposal to amplify volunteerism's important role in community building and tap the youth of today as stewards of idealism and optimism in a world trying to sustain itself for future generations. Being that critical sector in the socio-economic development of a nation, sharing with them different opportunities in a quick and more efficient way through ANI is seen as a healthy addition to already established networks coordinating and managing volunteers and projects. Moreover, ANI is innovative for two reasons. First, prospective users see their progress through individual digital trees that grow and bear fruit. A tree is a fitting symbol as one grows, too, when one shares his/her skills and/or talents to society through volunteerism. ANI, through this growing digital tree, wants prospective users to know their volunteer history on the app in symbolic fashion. Second, prospective users earn service credits for turning in good work on the platform. This incentivization optimizes the volunteer experience through positive reinforcement.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Volunteerism is essential in the progress of any society. Without volunteers, it would be difficult for society to solve many of its problems. Through the good and willing heart of youth volunteers the world over, hope for a better future is constantly renewed. ANI, which stands for "Actions Network Initiative," is an idea proposed for the implementation of others. It will target the youth sector as its prospective users. ANI's success indicators will include the following -- number of partner institutions/organizations/groups that will offer volunteer opportunities on the platform, number of youth volunteers using the app, number of projects and/or tasks being pursued and accomplished per month, favorability of the mechanism for incentivization in operation, acceptability of digital tree growth scheme in relation to tracking one's progress. ANI contributes to sustainable development by providing an additional platform to engage the youth and bring them closer to the wonderful and fulfilling world of volunteerism.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
ANI sees itself as a platform to further volunteerism in society. It will seek partnerships with national and local government units, charity organizations, non-governmental organizations, and private institutions for projects and tasks to be featured on the platform. Moreover, partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities will also be pursued for recruitment of prospective users. Out-of-school youth will also be tapped through local government units. Funding will be sourced from grant applications and through crowdfunding.

I am Arnold "Arnie" Rosales Lapuz of the Philippines, a 33-year old social science teacher at Philippine Science High School - Main Campus. I graduated from the University of the Philippines - Diliman with a bachelor's degree in Philippine Studies where I am also finishing graduate school in the same field. As a teacher, I believe in the youth's power to transform society. And volunteerism is crucial in achieving the dream of a better future. I am not new to volunteerism. I used to do volunteer work before. For this year's competition, I have decided to propose an idea on volunteerism. ANI or "Actions Network Initiative," if realized as an idea, aims to connect the youth with as many volunteer opportunities as possible. With incentivization and the digital tree feature, I, as its proponent, sees it as one way of elevating the experience of volunteerism and contributing to the network of actions this world needs to sustain itself.

I certainly appreciate your idea as of it targeted the youth. Any investment on youth bears a fruit as a result once country become developed. Volunteering emanate from clean heart, having clean heart is a health for oneself and a community again a country as well.
