Published on September 30, 2021 um 21:55
Explain your idea in details:
1) To have an easy transition into the hybrid or offline classes structure by assisting schools in navigating infrastructural challenges arising from social distancing and health concerns. 2) Helping schools figure out curriculums for bridging the gap created due to lockdown and cover the learning losses. 3) Helping schools figure out finances and funds to ensure no child has to drop out of the school system due to inability of paying fees or other economical challenges. 4) Ensuring that schools receive assistance in building consistency in learning through ensuring every kid has access to devices and data recharge, every kid is mentally and physically healthy. Process: 1) Many kids who have been learning in High/Middle income schools consistently will be offered the opportunity to volunteer and teach kids along with other opportunities to fund raising. This will also be open to other people who are willing to contribute to the cause. 2) Employees will be inducted to take care of trainings, communications, funds etc. 3) Crisis management cells will be trained to tackle problems in real time. It will be a process with an all hands on deck system to ensure external calamities or unprecedented situations do not take a toll on a child's education. 4) In a post pandemic world, the organization will be working towards improving the current system of teacher trainings, ensuring most schools have fully functional sanitary systems, proper infrastructure, child development programs, connecting children to opportunities around the world etc.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The process will start off by evaluating the schools and number of kids affected by the pandemic, through this survey schools will be approached to analyze and work on rectifying the gap widened. The success evaluation will be done by regular data analysis of progress and need based assessment of the safety of kids, academic performance etc.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The business model will work through funds raised through corporates and collaborations with institutions for different instances. Other sources of finances will include creating cohort based courses and trainings for middle/high income students. These will go beyond regular academia through courses like financial literacy, Social Emotional Learning, extra curriculars, self defense, training and support through mentorship programs for gearing up and applying to competitions. etc.
I am Archa Chaudhary (Age 23), a Teach For India fellow working with a low income private school in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. I am also a Fellow Advisor in my second year of fellowship, before this I have volunteered at e-vidyaloka through the Online United Nations Volunteering opportunity where I taught kids in an obscure village of Madhya Pradesh. Later I decided to work with Saturday Art Class where I was trained to teach Social Emotional Learning through Art as a medium and I still continue to teach it. My co-fellow and I were the only two candidates selected from Mumbai for a sustainable project implementation by Earth Watch where we were given 2 lakhs to ensure successful implementation of the project to also tackle with infrastructural challenges the school and its stakeholders faced. I believe education is the core solution to innumerable challenges we are posed with and it is my job spreading the benefits of my experiences and education to as many people as we possibly can to create more independent leaders and enablers that will result in a constant ripple effect of solution oriented people bringing in change.
