Explain your project in details:
the project outcome is an Improved provision of social services to OVC in the Gaza Strip through upgrading OVC centers. It is proposed to upgrade educational centers at Al-Amal Institute for Orphans in Gaza which has a variety of available resources and facilities such as buildings, landscapes, as well as an excellent reputation and credibility among the local community. The project will be achieved through upgrading and supporting an existing OVC care center at Al-Amal institute. This will include rehabilitation of an existing building at Al-Amal institute to make it ready to host the educational activities. Rehabilitation will include, for example, removal of some walls to expand halls, painting of walls, renewing of electricity or plumbing networks, as well as establishing a library, and computer labs with necessary furniture and computer networks, etc. The project will involve establishing and equipping an environment and science club, technology club, computer club, and media club. The clubs will include the following 1- Environment and Science club; where the talented students will be trained and exposed to advanced scientific experiments in the fields of chemistry, physics, energy, water, and agriculture. 2- Technology club; where the talented students will be trained and exposed to electronics, electrical devices, communications techniques, and other advanced technological inventions. 3- Computer club; where the talented students will be trained and exposed to programming, web design, online collaboration, and other related IT applications. 4- Media club; where the talented students will be trained and exposed to media production, graphics, photography, videos, animations, and other multimedia techniques. In general, the clubs aim to motivate students to have the potential to recognize their capabilities and to develop and apply their innovative ideas. The program will be held by a staff who will be oriented and trained on several aspects of the centers' operations.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The project's impact is to contribute improve healthy behaviors and future opportunities realization of orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) in the Gaza Strip. It would also motivate students to have the potential to recognize their capabilities and to develop and apply their innovative ideas. The innovation club will embrace talented and innovative students, motivate and help them to generate ideas in the respective fields. This club is the place where knowledge and practice will interact to produce innovative products and give the students the space and opportunities for creative thinking and innovation in the relevant subjects related to their areas of interest.
Sustainability and future plans
During a previous project, IRPAL has designed and produced a model innovation clubs document. Based on this document, four detailed operational manuals were designed, which included the clubs mission, vision values, and activities, a complete design of the club's activities and exercises in addition to addressing talented students selection criteria and how to best manage their capacities and encourage them to practice them. The mentioned manuals will be adopted and applied in this project for the child educational center. Ongoing evaluation will be conducted which might result in recommending some changes and adaptations in the existing manuals. The staff will be oriented and trained on several aspects of the centers' operations such as the administration of the innovation clubs, Child care and social development, Child protection policies and practices, Case management approach, Other training as per the needs assessment. Besides, an Awareness campaign will be designed and launched to endorse the innovation culture and concepts among children, parents, and the community. This campaign will continue to progress in parallel to other project activities. The campaign will use a diversity of tools to access the target audience such as posters, radio, website, and others.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
My name is Nazeer Alashi, I'm 33 years old. I work as a project manager at Al-Amal Institute for Orphans in the Gaza strip. I graduated from the faculty of Arts and Human Sciences majoring in the English language. I got the PCELT certification and I worked as an English language trainer for more than 5 years. I also worked as a translator, news correspondent, administrator, and manager. I love working at places that care about children and aim to improve their abilities. That's why I chose to work as a project manager at Al-Amal Institute in the Gaza strip for orphans where I find it worthy to do my best and make efforts. My role is to look for donors who can help orphans in my institute live well and have a good future. I always try to communicate with people all over the world to let them know about Al-Amal Institute for Orphans and that it is considered one of the leading societies of charity work related to sponsoring orphans. I hope to help orphans in Gaza learn better, live better, and feel the same as others at their ages whose families provide them with what it needs to be successful in life.
