Explain your project in details:

Ethos Wear project is a social enterprise that sensitizes and educates people on the SDGs and how to help attain them by the year 2030 through stylish apparel. We sell creatively made clothing and accessories with graphical messages on matters relating to global goals. We hope to influence people to be part of something vital and stand up for it, even if not by leaps and bounds, just by reminding your neighbor of our 2030 goals through a graphic t-shirt/ bag. So far, our first products are t-shirts with creatively designed messages on SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. We have managed to make some sales and hope to increase our numbers and get the opportunity to feature more designs on other SDGs. The long-term goal for my business is to create local jobs and eventually use part of my proceeds to facilitate forums teaching primary and secondary school children on SDGs and the importance of attaining sustainability. We also intend to contribute positively towards different SDGs by creating and facilitating different innovative social and environmental citizen activations.

Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development

Through selling more apparel, we are able to: 1. Educate the public on SDGs, societal and environmental aspects related to the global goals. We share insightful information through art. 2. Sensitize the public on SDGs, their purpose, and effective ways that live sustainably and make informed decisions on choosing to be global citizens. Through using different avenues to spread correct information regarding SDGs, more people are able to learn about them, the purpose of their existence, and the different ways they can take part in helping achieve them. Making an impact even through the smallest of actions. The ethos wear project premiered its first sale around January 2021, with merchandise featuring SDG 5: Gender equality and women empowerment. We have been able to make several sales and continue to do so currently. We intend to release new merchandise featuring other SDGs soon. To us, every sale we make is a step closer to achieving our goal. We get to educate people, encourage them to play part in achieving global goals, and raise money to fund different positive social and environmental citizen activations.

Sustainability and future plans

We use a one-for-one business model, whereby each sale contributes to an activation towards a positive social/ environmental cause in relation to the SDGs. We sell apparel with creatively made graphic content that educates the public on the SDGs. Our products are mainly marketed through social media, advertising, and word-of-mouth marketing. The main expenses we've had have been on production (purchase of merchandise, print, packaging, transportation, etc). The project is currently funded through personal investment. We intend to increase our funds through crowdfunding and angel investors. In the future, we plan to work with other creatives in order to increase the product variety for our customers and also support our local talent. We also aspire to increase our sales and increase our client base to an international level, thus educating more people on SDGs.

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

Your idea is very smart and practical.

The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it.

Your project is amazing!
