Explain your project in details:
Project AuraEd is an idea that emphasizes spreading digital literacy by helping underprivileged young minds explore the beautiful world of technology in Nepal. The primary objective of our project is to acquaint the students with the forever growing tech world. We teach these students about the basic functioning of modern technologies, the working process behind them, specs of possible future technologies and updates on the evolution of the modern world. According to our teaching modules, depending on the level of knowledge, the students are divided into three categories: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We believe this methodology will efficiently lead to the development of a strong technical knowledge base for all students. Our project is an excellent example of how youth participation can make a significant difference. We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers from all across Nepal. Our volunteers visit schools in their local district and carry out campaigns, either in groups or on their own. This way, we can reach out to many places with convenience, and make a real-world impact efficiently. As of now, we have reached a total of 2,500 students, which includes students from across 10 districts. But covid-19 has become a big hurdle in the way of our swiftly moving project. So, currently, we have organized free Summer Schools. We got pretty amazing responses and currently 500 students are enrolled. We teach Programming, Web Designing and Cyber Security. While conducting these online sessions, we found that the children in rural areas could not access our programs due to the lack of technological gadgets. While addressing this issue, our team came up with a new vision in which we plan to install computer laboratories in remote areas. However, achieving this dream project will be a long haul with a lot of hard work.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
In the context of our initiative, quality education has always been a solid root to the vision of four people to now a family of hundreds. Our organization's sole objective is to make youngsters skillful, to provide education to impoverished children, to provide a strong ground where the future game changers of the tech field can look for, and to work for betterment towards digital education in our country. Saying so, we strongly state that AuraED family firmly believes in quality education and every member from our team works dedicatedly to meet the objectives of quality education. In an era where the rest of the world is leapfrogging ahead in technology, we believe that even underprivileged Nepalese students should have access to a platform where they can be well educated and trained in technical subjects; they should have basic computer skills and an understanding of how computers work; and they should be projected toward the future that technology holds. And for this reason, the modules of our courses are designed for all levels of students so that everyone will have access to any level of knowledge. And basic knowledge of technology will contribute a lot in terms of making the youngsters fast thinkers and explorers. After learning the basic skills, they can even explore the world of the internet to learn about topics of their choices. Also, for others they can slowly grow together with us and come up with their own ideas and innovations in the coming future. All of these will contribute to the society with quality education. It will leave a sustainable impact on the future of those children. And the chain will continue because in the short span of time we have already reached to 2,500 students and it goes on in coming future
Sustainability and future plans
AuraEd is not just an organization but a community of reformers. Having started with a team of 4 members, we are now a family of over 100 enthusiastic changemakers working to bring change into society. We operate on a decentralized principle i.e every member of AuraEd form a team of local members and work in their respective communities. They organize different programs and workshops on behalf of AuraEd. This has helped reduce our travel costs and establish AuraEd as a self-funded entity till date. In the coming days, as our projects get larger, we plan to seek grants from national and international organizations. Furthermore, organize fundraisers in social media and crowdfunding websites. We aim to impact over 20000 students and reach all the 77 districts of Nepal by 2022. AuraEd is determined to develop a sustainable digital economy in Nepal by 2025 and guide people to develop skills accordingly.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
My name is Priyanshu Pyakurel, a 18 year old and a senior high school student from Nepal. As a child I enjoyed using computers and surfing the Internet. Later I was more inclined toward the entrepreneurial aspect of technology. Success as well as failure stories of corporations like Yahoo and Nokia inspired and attracted me towards startups and technology . Some of the entrepreneurs and innovators I look up to are Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Larry Page. In 2019, I founded a Digital Marketing Agency named Boost Source, where our services were concentrated on Facebook Ads, Google Ads and graphic design. I also love discussing Tech Startup Ideas. I believe that my passion for starting something new has fueled my journey until now. I wanted to start an impactful project, which eventually led to the founding of AuraEd. Firstly, my friends and I spent a week scouting for locations to teach. Then with the sole motive of creating productive as well as memorable experiences we went to around ten locations near us .Perseverance is yet another quality that has made Project AuraEd possible and we hope to reach new height in coming future. Today ,we are a team of over 70 enthusiastic individuals united by the common goal of spreading digital literacy across Nepal.
