Explain your project in details:
Somalia host one of the worlds most significant out-of-school student population with roughly 3 million out of 5 million children and youth of school-age not in school. School enrolment rates in Somalia are among the lowest in the world despite the major improvements in overall school enrolment over the last decade. The number of out of school children and youth (aged 618 years) is estimated to be around 3 million, most of whom are located in states in the less wealthy and secure southern and central parts of the country. These include children traditionally considered marginalized such as girls, children from ethnic minorities, displaced due to conflict and disaster and children with disabilities. In view of the above, CAD will focus on increasing access to inclusive and equitable quality education and learning opportunities for vulnerable and most marginalized children and those affected by humanitarian situations, with focus on girls. Promote access to education: - This will include supporting educational authorities and communities in their effort of accessing education to those who are denied of this basic right using various approaches (formal, alternative and adult non formal education). Improve quality of education: This will include intervention of supporting education authorities in developing/reviewing curricula materials, training of teachers, improving school-based education quality monitoring, introduction and utilization of co-curricular activities and pedagogical centers and considering schools as entry points for promoting Child Rights activities and developing the life skills of children to be active citizens. Promote inclusive education: CAD interventions in promoting both access and quality as stated above will be undertaken in such a way that they benefit marginalized group of children. In addition, support will be provided to make schools environment girls friendly, providing support continue/complete primary education and encouraging/supporting the participation of girls/women in teaching profession.
