The main Objectives include; Produce low cost animal feed from kitchen food left overs Specific Objectives include; Create access to cheap livestock feeds Promote environmental sustainability by removing waste from the environment. Contribute to environment sustainability of livestock by reducing extraction of fresh animal feed from the environment Generate income from Kitchen wastes. Activities. Collection of food left overs from homesteads, hotels, and other institutions Sorting of the kitchen remains Treatment of the kitchen remains Grinding for other items like bone to make bone meal or pelleting Fortification with minerals and other trace elements upon need Packaging of the products Marketing such as Branding and Distribution of products to the livestock farmers Innovative approaches will include. Sorting of the food waste and the reformulating into the correct rations Treatment of the product by boiling for 30 minutes and drying Conducting palatability and usability tastes on selected livestock farms before final product distribution on open market. Using part of the collected kitchen waste to feed and breed black fly Margot which is used as chicken. Other wastes will used as fertilizer for crop i.e. (liquid and compost fertilizers)
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Low cost livestock feeds lead to increased production and consequently farmers' incomes, and directly reduced famine hence achieving food and nutrition security (Zero Hunger) The project will enable environmental sustainability by reducing extraction of natural products to feed livestock, also removing food waste from the environment means clean sustainable cities as it reduces cost of garbage disposal and reduces disease spread. Targets and measures. Quantity of food waste collected in Kilograms 1 ton per month Quantity of feed distributed per month 0.5 ton per month Number of people employed in the process (3-5 people)

Customer segment: Small and Medium peri urban poultry and piggery farmers Customer relations: Providing addition extension support, building contacts and keep contacting the customers Value propositions: Low cost clean livestock feeds Partnership/collaborations: Partnerships will be sort with, City council authorities garbage collection unit, Universities with food science departments for research purposes, Partnerships will be with Uganda industrial research institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries industry Revenue: Revenue is expected from sale of feeds (final product) at an Estimate of 500kgs of feed sales per month, Sale of black fly Margot for chicken feeds. Profit: Profit will be revenue less the expenses Expenses; Feed collection costs of transport, Equipment, tools, space, packaging, and labor. Sources of Revenue; Personal savings and fundraising through cooperate organizations and other donors
I possess a degree in Agribusiness management, 8 years experience training farmers as agriculture and livelihoods officer, Agribusiness enterprise development agent with a keen interest in the agribusiness innovations and value addition. My motivation to write this idea is that I have accumulated a lot of wealth and experience having worked with farmers and this has offered me with an opportunity to document some of my ideas into a project. The idea I write about is in the area that I have basic skills and training. during my under graduate training, in under went training in food processing and preservation, post harvest handling as a course unit and this gives me a clear understanding of the idea.
