The inclusion of ICT in Schools
Explain your idea in details:
We shall be offering the following services; Movable Labs (Laptop Computers): We would like to be using laptop computers instead of establishing static labs (desktop computers). Which are energy consuming and can occupy a lot of space as well. Preferably, laptop computers which are energy saving (stores charging) and cannot occupy too much space. Since lots of schools do not have electricity supply which has been the problem for the effective use of ICT in schools. We would be charging these computers at our charging center and in the morning hours before classes becomes we may have already dispatch them at the various schools. ICT Curriculum: We have already developed a tentative ICT curriculum for teaching. Which would serve as a guide to ICT teachers for them to teach effectively & efficiently. Until when Ministry of Education will release theirs. E.g, Without a curriculum, School A may tend to teach Networking to Class 1 kids, whilst School B will be teaching Hacking to Class 1 kids. But with a well structured curriculum their ours, it vividly shows the topics that should be taught at various academic categorizes & levels.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Our targeted segment is categorized into two (Direct beneficiaries, which are; school going pupils - Primary & Secondary to be precise, and unemployed youths). The second segment are beneficiaries (the size, characteristic & demographic). As of 2020 2021, our beneficiaries have grown from (540 pupils that received training in a combination of 2 schools), to 600 + Pupils who are currently receive training in a combination of 2 schools as well. We do measure impact in evaluating success through monitoring & evaluation, monthly report and also through positive feedback from beneficiaries (pupils) concerning their training.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our financial model consists of grant, sponsorship, fundraising activities, subscription from pupils and members of the organization. Whilst our profit is normally based on fees subscription that is paid by pupils for a whole academic year which is used for the sustainability of the project through paying ICT teachers, as well as repairing breakdown computers.
