Explain your idea in details:
Raised in Nepal, we observed three things: Lack of climate change awareness ,Research aptitude among students and Entrepreneurship spirits. High unemployment issues and extreme levels of brain drain are the results of a lack of those inevitable things. Extreme deforestation, lack of sanitation awareness, and environmental pollution are climate-related issues right now. Likewise, we had seen a certain sort of inequality between the students of the rural and urban regions. Considering these things, we group of high school students led an initiative called Ed-tech Nepal. In our initiatives, we would reach the rural areas of Nepal by conducting workshops and seminars. Here we would aware people of the feasible effects of climate change and the steps they should take. It would take place by collaborating with local organizations working in a similar arena. Still to this date, since our idea is featured we had already implemented our Idea. We had reached two thousands people across Nepal. Likewise, we had been promoting research activities by partnering with different institutions since our Idea was featured. Recently, we partnered with YOUNGO Marine Project with the research on Effect on Marine life due to climate change. We selected five students from the secondary level to give them exposure to research. Likewise, another step is inviting fluent researchers for a talk session is an effective strategy, on which we are working. Likewise, we invited leading experts across the globe who are involved in startups to share their experience and basic steps like marketing, team formation, fundraising, and all to generate entrepreneurial spirits among students. In future, we would work on developing eco-friendly products and making it a platform of Innovation hub.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
We want to support SDG by generating an awareness campaign on climate change. It is great to say that we are already supporting. Growing an extensive network, raising extensive funds, and creating a huge impact are our primary goals. We are working against deforestation, climate change campaign, and early child marriage. By the next year, we had set a goal to reach over ten thousand people across the country. Likewise, we are targeting to connect 100 persons as our members including the provincial head and district head. This would make us easier to reach ground level and connect much more students. Another goal we set is to include fifty students across Nepal in our research activities. To this date, we had connected five students who had already completed their research works on converting food waste into money and are currently recruiting students for more research activities. We invite some professional person who could guide them in setting up research. It is our goal to start a research club under Ed-Tech Nepal so that our goal of literacy in research across Nepal would be met. Likewise, our entrepreneurship session had been fruitful for students but we need to take one step forward. We would be creating a talking platform where students could showcase their eco-friendly Ideas and best one would be given small seed funding for product development. For this, we need a huge partnership with a private organizations, capitalists, and the government as well.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The first and foremost thing is growing the network. To this time, we had 25 members including co-founder and board members. For reaching ground level, we are targeting to connect hundreds of individual individuals across the Nation. Funding is an important source for implementation. We are being part of different business challenges. Recently, we had been top 8 national finalists of the Leo Social Business Challenge, the Top hundred initiatives out of twelve thousand initiatives in the YOUNG TYCOONS BUSINESS CHALLENGE as well as featured and represented Ed-Tech Nepal in Regional Startup Networks held by KIIT Institute India. Over the past few months, we have been growing rapidly across the Nation. We have future goals of expanding in other countries from other countries starting from southeast Asia. Likewise, we would reach out to retired professors to give sessions on research. Collaborating with the organization, reaching our network, and involving more talents are inevitable aspects of the growth of our organization. We are in the process of registering the organization and are driven to bring changes to society. We believe that our growth over the past few months indicates how mobilized we are to develop it to a peaked level. It is one of the pioneering initiatives of a high schooler in Nepal advocating for climate justice and climate workshops, and entrepreneurship sessions by inviting leading professionals across the Nation. So, we have the huge potentiality to grow in future also.
