Workbooks from waste papers
Explain your idea in details:
My idea is Workbooks from waste papers. I was motivated by the student's story on the Internet. She was downscale people, and she was burdened with buying workbooks to study. Therefore, she used old workbooks that someone had already used. After I read this story, I thought that inequality in education between students is very serious. In fact, many students in Socially Disadvantaged Class or downscale people have fewer opportunities for education because of many reasons such as economic problems or parental opposition. Moreover, in our social structure, private education is getting important to get good grades in school and students are in private education. These make a gap between the students and cause inequality in education. Our society should solve it and make equality in education. I want to suggest Workbooks for waste papers for the solution. They are workbooks to study for oneself and they are provided to students in Socially Disadvantaged Class and lower-income groups. They are targeting middle and high school students because studying without a school class is important in middle and high school. Therefore, they contain middle and high school curricula. They include various types of problems rather than concepts. Hence, students learn concepts at school and solve various problems through these. Additionally, If we make a book from waste papers by modifying these and provide to developed countries, we can also reduce the cultural gap between countries.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The expected impact is, first of all, the protection of the environment (UN SDGs Goal 15. Life on Land). They use waste papers, so they can prevent the pollution from a waste paper. Many students just throw away their workbooks with not all undone or a lot of space left. Moreover, such as newspapers, and boxes for delivery, lots of papers are wasted. It can cause a serious waste of paper and it can lead to environmental pollution. Workbooks from waste paper can solve this problem because they are made of waste paper. Secondly, the expected impact is the decline of inequality between students in education (UN SDGs Goal 4. Quality Education, Goal 10. Reduced Inequalities). It is provided to students in a poor environment to study like Social Disadvantaged Class and lower-income groups. Hence, students can study for themselves without any financial burden. Through this process, inequality in education can be solved.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
To make workbooks from waste papers, I want to collaborate with Publishers and Internet lecture sites. General corporations can't earn money through these because they are provided free to students. Therefore, these should not be a major factor in management activities, but an additional factor. Corporations can't earn money through this but they can improve their corporate images. Also, recently, many investors consider non-financial parts such as ESG seriously, so corporates can get more opportunities for a large investment. Therefore, if I collaborate with the publisher, It will benefit both, the publisher and me. If I collaborate with Internet lecture sites, the quality of workbooks be improved, so It will be of great help to students. Additionally, If non-profit or social enterprises other than general for-profit enterprises do these, they can be major projects of the corporation.
I am high school students in Korea. Later, I want to work in a management field and change the society better, so I apply to the Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition.
