Explain your idea in details:
Our innovation is called Safepay a solution for public transport payment system that enables one to pay for their movements digitally by the comfort of their phones or swiping using the subscription card. This is proven to be safe, time saving and credible for the users based on research carried out by the places where the same kind is being implemented.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Safepay ensures a user friendly method that is faster, safe and convenient. This is unique with other existing solutions like Safeboda in Uganda which is only targeting motorcycles excluding the rest of tranport means. The solution is also potential on market based on the research made that found the neighboring country Rwanda tripling the out puts from the time they started implementing a similar approach. This has also bee given positive feed backs from users and operators. This will actually help the transportation sector gain more credibility and also ease the work of government to collect taxes
Plans for implementation and sustainability
We believe that our innovation has come at the right time where the world is embracing technology and Africa is one continent that has been left behind but is ready to receive transformation. We plan to work with government Agencies to ensure effective utilization of our solution and we also plan to replicate the same model throughout the whole African Continent..
I successfully led two high school projects to the national level and created good impact to support fellow students access school fees. I led LUMAC project which I founded to the nation action plan to support people living with albinism in line with the innovation. I am persuing a coarse of computer science with Princeton University online and helping develop the innovation. I am part of the YALI network or young African leaders network. I represented East African youth at the world bank youth summit that took place in may 2022.
