Explain your idea in details:

The African rural community is setup in a village structure. Each village has a headman who is the leader of the village. Each village is made up of up to 50 households depending on the size of the village. We target 15 households per village and form them into a cooperative in order to create a poultry hub. The recruited villagers will be empowered with skills that will capacitate them to run a poultry hub in a remote area. The rural poultry hub will have 3 legs. The first leg will produce inputs for the poultry industry. The second leg will focus on poultry production. The third leg will focus on selling poultry products. Thus the hub will have 3 specialized divisions, each focusing on specific tasks. Input, production and output. This will improve efficiency and effectiveness in the poultry industry among rural folk.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The plan is to implement the hub idea at the start of the rain season. Farmers will be recruited to farm inputs for the poultry hub, those who produce the most inputs will automatically become input farmers for the poultry hub even for the subsequent seasons. The input farmers will have to be rewarded by the hub by paying above market prices for their produce. Thereby incentivising them to sell their produce locally. Those who do not do well in producing inputs will then be recruited as poultry farmers. Poultry farmers will be given equal numbers of birds to grow. The onces who produce the most number of birds with less mortality rate will automatically become poultry producers. The ones who fail to grow poultry will then become output farmers or market farmers, recruited to sell the poultry in nearby markets. Everyone on the hub will have role to play and compensation according to his contribution. The hub will run like a competition in its infant year in order to ascertain the skills of the farmers, either input farming, poultry farming or market farming. Becoming part of the hub will be based on skills contribution. You contribute what you know best.
