Money For Hobbies
Explain your idea in details:
My idea is to have an online platform that lets anyone find a hobby, learn how to do it, and show them how to make money off it. How this works is, that when someone goes onto the website, they can search for an activity or hobby that interests them or they can take a personalized quiz that will ask some questions and give them a hobby that they can do based on their interests. This can include anything from arts and crafts or learning music. They can pick one of the many options that are displayed on the website. Then they spend the time they need going through tutorials to learn how to do it. There will be videos, text, and maybe even instructors to help you go through the steps and understand. Then they will be given options to sell what they made and make it a small business or teach it to other people. This gives people the option to make money on their hobby if they wish or they can sign up to teach others in this program and spread the knowledge.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Our main goal is economic growth and innovation. People who use our platform to its greatest potential will have a higher percentage of potentially starting a small business. This will create job opportunities, have more money circulating in the local economy, and promote community involvement. If we can stretch this all over the world, there will be many people that would want to take part in this. This idea could potentially reduce stress and can help anyone who is looking for something to do or is looking for a side job or activity. One target that I have is to broaden the reach of this platform all over the world so anyone who is looking for something to do can have access to that kind of thing. One measure to evaluate success is to look at our profitability and the number of customers. We can also have surveys that the customer can fill out after every completion of the course talking about their satisfaction level, this will help us understand how we need to improve and grow based on the client's needs.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our source of financial income, for now, is when people sign up for our platform they sign up for a monthly subscription, and the customer pays a recurring monthly fee for access to our platform. We will also gain income from those who sign up for a personal tutor because they will pay us to get help from a tutor if that is a possibility. In the future, I hope to collaborate with influencers and use social media to spread awareness. I would also like to partner with different entrepreneurs that will help scale this idea to what it needs to be. Our business model can be called a two-sided marketplace. This means that we make money from the customers looking for something to do, and we also make money from the tutors or when they start to sell their creations. I also would like to collaborate with successful business leaders to scale this idea and broaden its reach.
Hi! My name is Saathvika. I am a 14-year-old freshman at my high school in California. In 8th grade, I participated in a program called FBLA at my high school. This is the Future Business Leaders of America program, in this program we learned a lot of great qualities about a business and being an entrepreneur. We talked about how to create a successful and sustainable business. I wanted to use this knowledge to embark on a new project. I've been in a lot of volunteering clubs over the years and I have learned many leadership and community service skills. I started a small business during quarantine and it became pretty successful. I made around $10,000 in 5 months. This experience has inspired me to create new things and embark on new entrepreneurship-related opportunities. Through this business, I learned more about financial income and how to manage things related to the business such as marketing strategies and how to grow a successful business with low effort.
