Explain your idea in details:
My idea is production of rice. The objectives are; To make food available and affordable, reduce/eliminate importation of rice in Nigeria/Africa as a whole, job creation. The activities are to produce and farm rice, empower farmers that farm rice and monitor/supervise them. Irrigation system, empower farmers to farm rice and buy it from them.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
My target is to reduce poverty, make food available, affordable and creation of jobs for farmers, educated and less educated ones, help to bring other investors. And build a stronger market gain for Rice production in the country and a successful agricultural engagement in the midst of our people.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Production steps; First, we have long grains, short grains and medium grains. The seeds will be soak in water for at least 12hours. After the land have been cleared and plough. It will be in rows so as to allow water flow and give space for weeds removal. Trenches and blocking the ends so that water stays. Presence of full sunlight location, bright light and warm temperature of at least 70 Fahrenheit approximately 20 degree Celsius. Delta and Anambra states are good suitable swamp region. Well constructed water source, which will be drain when time for harvest comes. After the planting, the growth starts within one (1 week). Partnership with federal and state government (they will support our financing if we have made head ways). Collaborators are states and federal Agricultural boards. Institutions on Agricultural research. My two aims are 1. To plant/production. 2. Empower farmers/buying the rice from them. From the two sides of this plan, job is definitely eminent. This is a long spam business as Rice is a daily meal in the country just as production of alcoholic drinks. Remember that Rice is equally used for production of alcohols and children foods.
