Explain your idea in details:

Objectives and Goals: are to create many full-time and part time jobs, provision of cassava products with health benefits at affordable price. Freshly harvested high improved variety of cassava yellow root obtained from the company cassava farm will be mechanically or manually peeled with a machine or kitchen knife, washed and sliced into cylindrical chips of 3mm-5mm thickness with a chipping machine. The gram total of wet cassava chips will be spread thinly alongside fresh coconut edible parts on stainless steel trays or on cemented floor and dried in the sun at ambient conditions, with the prevailing atmospheric temperature of 32oC and humidity at 55% in the cabinet drier at 55oC for a period of 8 hours. The dried cassava chips and coconuts will be allowed to cool and stored at ambient conditions in high density polyethylene bags and sealed. The dried chips will be milled into 600-micron particle size coarse flour (7% moisture content) and then rehydrated to 67% moisture to stimulate the moisture level commonly found in raw cassava, to produce cassava mash. Fresh cassava mash will be prepared and added at levels of 0% to 50% to the cassava mash base. Each mixture will be stirred together with fresh coconut milk and water manually and allowed to ferment naturally for a period of 72 hours at room temperature in a 100 litres plastic bucket with lid. These changes in the starch structure of the starch granules will however favour its digestion by amylolytic enzymes and consequently its hydrolysis into maltodextrins, glucose, lactic acid and other starch derivatives. l also discovered that the fermenting chips contained higher concentration of lactic acid at between 48 and 72hrs of fermentation, than in the chips that did not contain fresh cassava mash.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

''A healthy nation is a wealthy nation'' when a nation is under malnutrition they mental and intellectual performance are retarded. The individual person residing in that nation will be mentally degenerated because of the lack of all the required essential ingredients in their daily meals, and this greatly affect the health, and socio-economic development of that nation as a result it posses great danger to the generation yet unborn. In my country Nigeria greater percentage of the population are under malnourished, because these percentage or group of people cannot afford the expensive food products and supplements to augment their diets, because they are living in poverty. And their have been heralded with series of health problems coupled with they financial difficulties. With ''MGA diet garri'' they problem will be solved, the garri will not only proffers solutions for health problems, it will be made affordable because the price will be structured in such a way that even the poorest person in Nigeria can afford it. When the individuals in a country fed well, the country will be populated with healthy people and a healthy people makes a wealthy nation. Which will in turn become a productive and stable economy and its evidence will be shown on the behavior and intellectual engagement of the citizenry for both present and future generations, which will result to sustainable development.

Yes, Mr Tochukwu. I concur with that your recommendation and inciteful comments, of course packaging and branding of garri is timely. My company is not only going to package and brand garri, but will increase it nutrient contents and create a new version of garri that will be known as MGA Diet Garri.

Garri still sells more because it's readily affordable even for the poor and its stomach sustainability. An average Nigerian will prefer buying garri with N100 than using it to buy egg or indomie. By packaging, I entails it been exported. In U.K, garri is sold well-packaged. This well-packaged U.K garri is either an import from African country or locally produced in U.K. Even if it is to be sold locally, packaging cannot be ruled out. If we are to move towards been called a developed and advanced country, we have to change our ways of doing things. Unpackaged garri is conventional, and thus it be changed to a functional and more modern method. That is the essence of innovation.

'No matter how packaged Indomie Noodles is, Garri still sells more' ..a Nigerian maxim. ~~(*_*).
@Imelda dear, Cassava is soaked in water for days. It is a method of processing it. It doesn't loose vitamins but undergoes a fermentation process. As a Biochemist, Fermented food are about the best for human consumption such food as Fufu, Youghurt, pap, etc.
I commend you Mr Mba on your project initiative; while it will help provide food for many, Farmers will also be employed too.

Pls kindly read through our project through this link https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/10/2256 and advice us thanks.

Thank you Dielamo M Jonah. MGA Diet Garri is a new version of traditional garri product gotten from cassava tubers, as you said. I appreciate your efforts as you take time to read and evaluate my idea. Your suggestion and recommendation are in order, l will work on those areas you mentioned.

[email protected] Garri is processed product of cassava. It is very popular Nigerian diet. Now to your idea Mba. You need to elaborate/explain what garri is. The word Garri is not widely known internationally. Garri been the crux of your idea, you should not make the judge, investor or reader second guess what garri means. You have a good idea. Agro processing has a good value chain because it spurs employment opportunities in it services. You should not also toy with it branding and packaging. This is the soul of your business since you are now moving from the traditional method of garri packaging and sale. All best to you. I am glad to see youths like you joining me in changing the perception of agriculture in Nigeria. YOU CAN TAKE A VIEW AT MY IDEA MIEDERIAN FARM AND COSMETIC PRODUCTION USING SNAILS EXTRACTS IN POWDERED FORM..And see what contribution you can make. You are not persuaded but on your will. All the best to you.

Hello Mba!
Very nice idea! As African, I better understand your concern. I remember our old cassava that spend hours and days in the water, losing all the vitamins, so to be consumed... It's very smart to enrich it !
tell me just if there is an age group for your product or that is accessible to everyone?

It's would be a pleasure to read your comment in my page about my idea "BOOST IDEA".
Thank you in advance!

Thank you, Mr Jayson Sharpe. l appreciate your time and contribution on my idea. l will do same to yours!

I did not know what garri was, but now due to your detailed explanation of the process I definitely have an idea now.I believe it's a good idea cause you are using readily available raw materials and adding value to them.Agro processing will always be viable as people must eat so there will be always room for growth, as you will be stimulating further investment in Agriculture.Focus on ways whereby you can introduce technology into your process to both speed up the work, reduce cost and also allow your workers to gain new modern skills. Also make it competitive enough to be exported and you will have limitless growth.I wish you great success in this endeavour.I do hope you take the time to review my idea UrClickcast.Take care and continue with the great work.Rgds.
