Vintage Tunisia is a social e-business that process its transactions through an online platform that displays different handicrafts made authentically by rural women from different regions in Tunisia. We aim to empower underprivileged women, help them be less dependent, create job opportunities and to revive traditional handicraft market within and out of Tunisia. Vintage Tunisia provides different types of traditional Tunisian handicrafts from different regions in the country through its easy browsing platform allowing its users to inspect, purchase and insert changes to handicraft products. Our future plans include developing a mobile app that will enhance the communication between the customer and the artisan for better designs and customer loyalty.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

This venture will create different job opportunities thus help women be financial independent and it will also protect our cultural identity through promoting our traditional handicraft. The ultimate objective is to expand geographically and to deliver more products in more countries and to enlarge the number of artisans in Tunisia and in the neighboring countries which will gain the company a more diversified products, an extended customer base and a global recognition which will gain us a sustainable development and help us scale up.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

Vintage Tunisia will be selling 100 unit of products in the first operating months in order to break-event, the start-up cost will reach $10,000.
Vintage Tunisia will partner with local NGOs and organizations in the regions in which the artisans work in order to help with procurement, design of the product, production and quality control with the control and the supervision of our local managers and designers.
FedEx is going to be the companys shipping partner and Salmine Fashion is going to be the companys local distribution partners.

Your profile

I am a 22 years old Buisness Administration undergraduate (currently enrolled). I elaborated a Marketing and Public Relations internship in Lebanon and have been attending and organizing different business related events, workshops and training which helped me gain an extended network and an excellent communication skills. I improved my soft skills and team management skills thanks to my participation in different student startups incubators events as team manager, organizer or a volunteer . Responsible of the Public Relations and marketing strategies .
