Explain your idea in details:
There are many opportunities in Northern districts to produce and sell goods made out of locally available natureal resources but young people in the area are not prone to think of such opportunities available for them and also lack of knowledge and practical skills on how to produce such finished goods. There is lack of training opportunities in the area and where such technical training opportunities exist, the youth are often not able to pay the fees of the training. Youth also have limited access to required startup capital due to lack of collateral, fear of risk-taking and high interest rates in existing financial institutions. To address the above mentioned challenges, Tour De North Bambo Village project will offer training in shea oil production, shea crème and shea soap making. The project equips beneficiaries with practical skills in those products using appropriate technology with a cottage industry approach. This prepares the beneficiaries to produce traditional shea oil for food consumption, laundry soap and shea crème for both domestic use and market sales using shea oil and other locally available materials. The training takes one week for each group and the technology requires locally made wooden and metallic equipment and plastic utensils that are cost effective and affordable by all classes of people. Linkage to existing finance institutions; beneficiaries are linked to youth friendly financial products so as to increase their access to capital. Given the limitations faced by potential entrepreneurs in this business field; Training in group dynamics and formation of working groups: beneficiaries are equipped with knowledge on group dynamics so that they are able to startup. Entrepreneurship training: the project equips beneficiaries with entrepreneurial skills so that they are able to apply the practical skills into viable business ventures leading to job creation like ILOs start your Business
