Newdays paper bag

Published on June 5, 2016 um 12:58

Explain your idea in details:

The government of Uganda banned the use of plastic bags known as "plyethene" bags in Uganda because of the damages they cause on human health and the environment. 90% of Ugandans have been using these plastic bags to Carry things and cook food which is a threat on environment and human health. Companies shops and pharmaces have been using this bags to wrap in goods to their customers. I came up with an innovative alternative way of substituting plastic bags through designing and making PAPER BAGS from papers, manillas and other soft materials. I will be buying papers from paper industries from were they will be cut shaped very well in different sizes folded in form of a bag.I will use paper glue to tighten them very well they will also be printed in different colours with well printed words on both sides handles will also be put for easy carrying of goods by customers bags will be durable and inexpensive a bit different from other existing paper bags in the market. A team of youth, women and dropout from schools will be trained basing on entrepreneurial and managerial skills, the training will take like two weeks and after the course I shall buy starting materials for example manillas paper gum printing materials and others which will be needed in the process. Part of my team will be let to go in the field to search for the market which I believe is there were by we are targeting supermarkets, shops hospitals and restaurants plus government bodies. Newdays paper project will also give products on credit provide after services to our esteemed clients this will help us attract customers eaily. My main aim is to cover Uganda through opening up different branches and also export to other countries.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

About 50 people are to be employed in this business amongst these include youth, women, school drop out and illiterates. They will be trained for a period of one month and after gaining the necessary skills they will be able to work. Many branches will be opened all over the city and country wide. I want my project come number one in making paper bags in Uganda, I want also to provide jobs to the youth and women reduce unemployment level country wide and also eradicate poverty amongst people. Also those trained will be given opportunities to open up there own branches thereby teaching more people how to make and design the bags 50% of women are expected to be involved because many of them are unemployed here in my country and on top of that some have got talents in art and design which need to be developed. On top of making paper bags I went also extra mile and think of making book covers for kids in lower section this project will help boost the parent business in to another level will use profit got to expand newdays project. I will also advertise on media to increase on the market and also increase popularity of the product in public this will help our products pick up quickly and also increase sales, with in one year the project with much effort put want to fully utilize resources and maximize profits in order to survive.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

With the help of my family hope to get a loan from a bank of $5000 for a start where by i will be able to register my project with the authorites, get a trading licence and a certificate cerfifying my project that the product is good and fit to be used by Ugandans,i will also need to buy raw materials, rent a work place with in the city with a suitable location, employee some workers and also get a small van which will help to deliver the products in time to our clients. The project will also give after service to serious customers this will help increase on the project sales.WinniePex suppermarket is patterning with Newdays project to provide bags were by almost hundred bags will be sold out everyday she has also given me another opportunity to supply to her branches in the city this is already our chance of increasing profits, i will continue to search for more customers early because i know more poeple are going to emurate my idea,to add on that i have also an idea of setting up school of art and design for all people who would like to learn how to design these bags profit got will help me expand the project through opening up new branches with in the city and a cross the whole country.
