Explain your idea in details:
The solar window introduced here is a new approach for sustainable energy generation through a Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) system that addresses some current issues people face when using solar cells in buildings. It is designed optically to be able to absorb more of the incident energy during summertime and let`s pass more sunlight during winters. This system is designed to harvest not only the direct energy incident on its surface but to gather part of the reflected energy on its initial absorbing surface accounting for up to 30% losses for normal solar systems. With such a unique ability it can reach higher efficiencies than of typical organic solar cells that are designed to be used as solar windows. This window looks transparent as a normal glazing unit, the issue that BIPV industry has always been struggling with. It also performs better in partly shaded situations and is less affected by pollution , dust and snow cover that decreases normal solar systems` efficiency and makes them demand more maintenance. The energy saved by using insulated glazing units in buildings is less significant when used in warmer climates than in colder ones. Introducing such a solar window will add more value on using insolated systems in such climates because it generates electricity that can contribute in cooling the building. This project consists of 3 phases: Phase1: To finish building the first commercial prototype aimed to be able to charge a mobile device like a tablet (having an output of 10 watt-hours) in 2 months. Phase2: To equip the first building with such a window able to generate 5000 watt-hours within 6 months, Phase3: selling 1000 square meters of such a window in a year.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
As for solar energy industry, the costs of installing panels and structures needed have not been decreased at the same rate as the costs of panels themselves. And with the vertical growth of cities, there remains less room for rooftop solar systems. Introducing a system that can absorb solar energy at vertical surfaces and introduces clean energy to societies in an affordable price, provide a unique new potential. There are communities where people have cellphones but no electricity available to charge their phones everywhere. The poorest fifth of the world pays one-fifth of the world`s lighting bill-but receives only 0.1% of the lighting benefits, many children don’t have access to light to be able to read after sun goes down. So providing such a system will help reduce distances and inequalities. Using such a product will bring new opportunities that can help localize energy production. More people are encouraged to use this power production to use it as small generators and light up the neighborhood. Because it`s a localized intra-industry venture, there is available leasing schemes for the long run to lower the initial costs of installing such systems for the poor. The company will expand beyond geographical borders and even the less developed societies will benefit from the energy saved this way without the need for installing heavy-weight and expensive panels. Our success will be measured as: A working solar window is introduced to the world that can be used for multiple applications as phase 1`s objective is complete, A more sustainable house equipped by such a window in 6 months, A total amount of 1000 square meters of such a window is sold and multiple distribution channels and local cooperation have been initiated in a year.

This will be a learn-on-the-go bootstrapping approach that includes dividing the product into separate components and outsourcing them to keep fixed costs and the risk assets as low as possible.
Initial sales will provide financial resources to let the venture do its R&D activities along the path while generating tangible results that will let it be found and mentioned as a working solar window.
Our business model includes using global as well as local supply services and helping to empower our brand. Through leasing possibilities available either as direct power production or secondary benefits from that power generation , local investors and also subsidies from governments, this will grow exponentially in sales volume term and more people will benefit from it directly and indirectly.
The project will be led and coordinated by me through its first year of operations through planning for establishing the supply chain , outsourcing , permissions , renting workspace and warehouse , transportation and keeping our venture profitable and growing by constantly using mentoring services from niche mentors and investors .
We will seek financial resources from local angel investors that some already shown interest in investing in such a project. We also will collaborate with researchers , government agencies and multiple suppliers along the way to keep our value creation and delivering process smooth and ongoing.
