Coworking spaces : Pathway to the future of work.

CIC's main objective is to provide coworking office spaces in the suburbs of a city.(begining with Lagos, Nigeria). This is because most companies have their offices on the island while most of their workers live on the mainland. The workers have to commute an average of 5 hours each day to their offices coupled with bad roads, fuel scarcity and expensive fares to get to work, this ensures that valuable time is wasted and worker reach their offices tired hence a drop in their productive output. CIC is innovative in that co-working spaces, though not especially new in Lagos are real estate-centric rather than community-centric and are mostly on the island, which defeats its purpose to the workers. Also CIC aims at providing power, internet access among other services to workers on a pay as you use basis making it an affordable option for companies and individuals.

The target in terms of manpower is to have at least 100 employees from as many diverse companies and backgrounds in the coworking space, as this is crucial for the future of work. A system would be put in place to curb any attempt of monopolization by any one company. CIC would also serve as an awareness and enlightenment platform, pushing for the future of work. The idea would be deem successful if: I) The aforementioned target is reached. II) Companies hosted actually report an increase in employee productivity and output using various factors as the scale. III) Employees hosted actually report an increase in their creativity and a reduction in their stress levels. IV) There is need for expansion after the first year

CIC main source of revenue would be generated using the membership business model which would be unique for its pricing and flexibility (daily, monthly and weekly, private offices) options. Other sources of revenue would come from renting out its conference rooms, hosting and speaking at seminars, conferences and meet-ups, providing consultancy services to organizations to enable them adapt and manage the changes of the future of work.  Our potential customers include freelancers, employees of companies embracing the future of work, online entrepreneurs and start-up employees.
Financing
The first phase of the idea would be financed from personal saving, activities to be done in this phase include awareness and sensitization of organizations on the elements of the future of work such as flexible working arrangements, collaboration, employee engagement and leadership. This would be carried out on actively on social media and at various conferences and workshops.
The second phase would be financed by crowd funding on platforms such as crowdfunder.com and seeders.com for equity investment and seed money. The funds generated from this platforms would be used in buying/leasing and renovating the co-working space.
The two phases would run almost concurently.
