Explain your idea in details:
The Carpe Diem Foundation is an idea that was birthed out of the need to bring out the best in the youths of today especially in Nigeria. This is due to the rising rate of violence, gangs etc. Some of our aims and objectives include: Giving skill, information and educated their proper locus in the minds of young people. Encouraging young people to push themselves beyond societal and environmental blockades. Helping young people develop a clearer understanding of the social, political and economic factors affecting their lives. Strengthening the awareness of young people on their own potential power to control their lives. Raising the consciousness of young people on the need to cultivate the strength of their youth and make it an asset.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The expected impact of our idea is the all-round development of young people in areas such as; their academics, talents (using their God-given gifts to generate wealth for themselves), economically, financially, etc. The number of people whose lives we will be able to impact every quarter of the year, as we plan to embark on enlightenment projects in secondary and tertiary institutions every quarter.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Carpe Diem Foundation stands as business that reaches out the young people and as such is involved in the production and sale of magazine, fish and poultry farms which begin by October, 2016. Also by October will be a mentorship and training program. All of these will be sourced and financed by the members and partners of the organization, also by contributions from friends and families of the members of the foundation.
Name: Onini Tariere DOB: 16/04/1996 State of Origin: Bayelsa State I am currently a 300 level student of history and diplomacy of the Niger Delta University. Being a bayelsan I grew up in a society where I saw children birthing children, militants, thugs, gangsters among others. A vast majority of these people are youths and teens, and I never understood why. As a history student, I have come to learn that these people are humans like me who are victims of ignorance parental and societal misconducts. As such Carpe Diem Foundation stands as a platform through I and other confounders can reach out to these young people in hopes that we can change the mentality that has been planted in the minds of these youths.
