Explain your idea in details:

The main objective is to reduce the illiteracy rate in underdeveloped countries, provide youths with better chances of success, equip youths with the ability to make decisions and be formidable for the future transitions of these countries. this idea is concerned with the provision of subsidised education for children and teenagers in underdeveloped economies (such as Nigeria), its aim is to focus on rural areas. Considering a major quality possessed by underdeveloped nations eg India, Nigeria, which is surplus labour, this project is feasible. A large proportion of skilled and semi-skilled labour can be directed towards educating children with the basic knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking, this is necessary to help them explore their options and better informed decisions in life. This idea also makes provision for handicaps (physically disabled individuals), they would be incorporated into the vocational aspect of this project, where they are equipped with different skills (for example, shoe making, painting & drawing, tailoring, various arts and crafts). Awareness for these programs would be targeted towards the youths (especially the less privileged) in rural areas and handicapped individuals to provide them with sustainable qualities. This project would also be an opportunity for various humanitarians to volunteer their services to the organization, increasing manpower and the welfare of the students. There would be no fixed fee payment (school fees), guardians pay as they earn or as is convenient for them, they pay a fixed percentage of what they earn; a limited number of students would also be under scholarship based on their financial status, payments can also be made in kind. This project that would adopt the use of various teaching instruments (visual, oral and practical), this aims at obtaining optimal result from the students.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

The project would commence with a pilot survey of a total of 100 less privileged and handicap students (aged between10-18years). In 18months this project should have been able to help at least 70% of the children and teenagers in speaking, writing and reading basic English. It should have been able to gain sponsorship from at least five national and international organizations with regards to finance and awareness as regards its short term goals. children and teenagers from various ethnic and religious backgrounds should be admitted into the program without any form of bias. Youths under this project should be empowered with a better understand of their rights and privileges as humans, with the determination to build a better future hinging towards growth and development. Students should have acquired sustainable skills such as painting, shoe making, hair making etc, before the end of their program.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The works of students would be exhibited (eg paintings, textiles, shoes, bags, jewelries, other arts and crafts) and sold in an annual event, various philanthropist and prominent individuals; and several individuals interested in education for children and youths would be invited.  This exhibition would be a major source of fund generation for this project, it would also be a source of motivation to the students, an opportunity to interact with people in various fields and be offered life-changing opportunities. Several collaborations would be done with non-Governmental Organizations interested in the girl child, and the education and empowerment of children and youths. This would ensure awareness and sponsorship. The government also has a major role to play.

It still rings the bellof whether education is a right or a privilege. I am really looking forward to implement my idea and I badly need to know its loopholes. Can you help me contribute to indigenous communities in Bangladesh? https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/4/4333/

It is a great project and a very noble idea; the third world countries are lagging behind because of their structured mode of education that just caters for the rich and the lucky ones who are not disabled,
I believe with this idea being pushed to next level we will see innovation and agriculture sectors coming up and hence reducing poverty and food insecurity in our nation. As they say, empower a child, and you will have empowered a nation.

Ingenious and brilliant! Aimed at achieving SDGs nos 1 and 4, especially in Nigeria. An indispensable vital contribution to our economic needs. Skill acquisition; an obvious imperative solution to widespread unemployment and high dependency rate...especially of the labour force.
Esther indeed nailed it!
It's an idea that can be termed a basic cure to Nigeria's maladies.
Way to go!

This is a great idea, it will also bring about development in an undeveloped country. And this is a great opportunity for youths to crawl out of there shell, to make use of there intellectual power.
