Explain your idea in details:
Young people below the age of 30 consist of 68% of the population,those between the age of 16 and 30 consist of the total production(UNICEF 2010). This means that a quarter of the entire population is at a crucial stage that can determine not only their personal growth and development but the future of growth and development of Tanzania as a country. The mission of Ecopro has been adopted as: To create sustainable and productive livelihoods for young Tanzanian with emphasis on using locally available resources, institute partnership, policy change in favor of youth participation and adoption of technologies that foster economic and social development.ECOPRO empowering youth project advocates the promotion of entrepreneurship spirit among young people through direct training on production and financial empowerment of youth groups in communities profitable and sustainable. The concept promotes the use of locally based requires and localized materials and technologies that can be easily supported and sustained. As such Community Based empowering youth project aims at achieving Training and equipping youth with necessary skills on production and technologies to be used in local communities and easily sustained,Emphasize on a culture of entrepreneurship among Youth in participating in production activities. Establish a revolving fund for youth empowerment, credit access or guarantees in areas that have develop capacities. Promote the use of available technologies in Tanzania. Ecopro company will be conducting 3 days training on entrepreneurship and production of various products for youth in different regions in Tanzania. The applications will be received and analyzed by the ecopro committee so as to get right candidates for the programme,Ecopro Company will recruit 100 young team leaders who will be eligible for the entrepreneurship programme .
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
By developing the first 100 Young people as full time entrepreneurs, Ecopro empowering youth training will be breaking the tradition of white collar jobs that many young people look up to after completing their basic education. It is equally justifiable to train these young people in Entrepreneurship and basic business skills to ensure that they are able to manage their businesses. A member of Ecopro company in Tanzania shall be appointed as a permanent liaison officer to monitor and evaluate the progress on a number of cooperative set-up, progress, impact of the project and business is performing. The Officer will also be responsible for linkages in training and coordination of further identification of various markets for the finished products,Ecopro Company will launch different business write- ups competitions for youth in Tanzania.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Ecopro youth empowerment committee will recruit 100 youth from different Tanzania regions basing on the assessment done by the committee. Training will be conducted by ecopro company in collaboration with Ministry of Labor and vocational training officials, SIDO, international organizations and Tanzania motivational speakers and mentors.
Successful trained youth will be team leaders in their regions and being connected t successful entrepreneurs to ensure their growth in the sector.
After every 3 months successful trained youth will be attending mentorship programme so as to improve their capability.
Youth who will be eligible to join the programme are suppose to pay a certain amount of money for training.
ECOPRO company will partner with sponsors who can work with us in ensuring that we reach out to more youth in Tanzania.
Facilitate the availability of quality production material and packages at reasonable prices.
Rahel Joseph Mahende is 22 years old lady from Tanzania .She is the founder and managing director of Ecopro company that deals with production and supply of Eco-friendly liquid soap in Tanzania. Rahel is a self motivated and ambitious young lady who wish to empower other youth to engage in self employment so as to reduce poverty rate in her community. she choose to venture into entrepreneurship activities because it has been her passion to get involved in production of products as she believes in self employment as the way to create sustainable development in Tanzania some of her products such as hand wash ,disinfectant and multipurpose liquid soap have penetrated in the market in a very short period of time with high success which enabled me to get a chance to showcase her products in well recognized events in Tanzania such as international women's day in MWANAMKE TAMBUA FURSA EVENT and nyamachoma festival. she has been featured in Tanzania blog called BLOGU YA MWANANCHI so as to inspire youth to engage themselves in entrepreneurship activities. Under ecopro umbrella in collaboration with ARAS foundation rahel engaged herself in giving back to Tanzania community by visiting orphanage centers and provide to them some basic needs for orphans. Rahel is a self motivated and ambitious young lady who wish to empower other youth to engage in self employment so as to reduce poverty rate in her community.
