EmergencyGo - "Your friendly life-saving system"

Published on August 3, 2016 um 18:37

Explain your idea in details:

In developing countries like Vietnam, each month, there are over 80 people died because of not having the ambulances on time (due to troubles like traffic jams). Understand the difficulties; I was inspired to come up with EmergencyGo - a system that will check peoples health condition and help them in case of emergency immediately. This system consists of 3 products: EG Collector (an app), EG Service (an online medical service) and EG Cloud (a cloud storage) 1. EG Collector a health application that collects data about users health conditions (from third-party apps such as Nike, Argus or smart devices such as smart band, headset) - for credibility, this information can be firstly approved by local hospitals. EG Collector will then send them to EG Service and get them analyzed for diagnosis. In an emergency case (shake your phone to call for emergency), staffs (qualified doctors) from EG Service will not only send ambulances to users updated location but also show users relatives or bystanders how to make first-aid based on users health data through EG Collector while waiting for ambulances. 2. EG Service an online medical service organized by qualified doctors who will work through EG Collector and EG Cloud. Doctors from EG Service will stay in touch with users via EG Collecter to give advice based analyzed users' health data. 3. EG Cloud (only for further development) a cloud storage for users health data from EG Collector (EG Cloud will make it easier to storage a large amount of users data and can be accessed from any platforms).

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

Time waits for no one and in emergency cases, having ambulances sent on time is crucial! This system aims to save a thousand lives and increase life expectancy, especially over 2 billion smart phones users in developing countries, who have a tendency to suffer the situation (not having ambulances on time). By showing users' nearest person how to make first-aid based on their health condition while waiting for ambulances, EmergencyGo would make it possible to increase users' survival rate. The app EG Collector is feasible to create and make quick return afterward. With the profit gained from EG Collector, it would be easier to recruit more professional staffs to build EG Service. What is more, in this digital age, EG Service would be a new innovative medical working style which allows doctors diagnosing patients online through the app EG Collector and data stored in EG Cloud. This also creates more job opportunities and the convenience in terms of medical diagnosis. However, I understand the accuracy in online diagnosis is not completely ensured despite the development of technology these days. To deal with this, the project aims to build a special device like a medical smart band or necklace which would diagnose better and more accurately. These devices will be specially made for other 4 billion non-smart phones users. The third task of EmergencyGo is to educate and promote people about health care as well as protecting their own life. This is because in further development, EG Collector is not simply a health app, it motivates people to get up-to-date with health news, to work out and share their record on social media (to compete with their friends). In other words, EmergencyGo is an enjoyable medical system which promotes an amazing connection between doctors and patients.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

Firstly, I would call for actions through social media, and potential investors for funding. The financial funding will be used to recruit a team to build the testing version of the project which include the first version of the app EG Collector. Then, we would advertise the success of the testing version (video) and call for actions again from social media and sponsors. The funding will be made for building EG Service (including collaborate with local hospitals) and EG Cloud. What is more, as the expected advantages of EmergencyGO compared with other health app or services (like Apple Health, Google Fit) is to promote the fastest emergency service and a new medical working style, we will collaborate with potential medical concepts like Ambulance Drone (have a look via this link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-rEI4bezWc) to ensure the aims. Secondly, we would also collaborate with health companies such as Nike, Fitbit in order to allow the app sync health data with other health third-party applications or devices (smart band, headset). By doing this, it would also be possible to create share options when users work out. We also are planning to collaborate with the Ministry of Health experts to earn recognition and get our system to be used in every hospital and clinic. Last but not least, we expected to collaborate with popular and trusted health experts to get health tips about things like how to have a healthy life or worlds health current concerns (and how to prevent them), finally bring them to users via the app EG Collector.

Your profile

My name is Le Dam Hong Loc, I come from Vietnam. Currently, I am 17 years old and study in Luong Van High School for The Gifted, my major is Math . Many would think that I am too young to become an entrepreneur due to lack of practical experience. However, I always hope to be a great social entrepreneur and as long as I believe in that, I will keep working hard and experience more regardless of the failures I have made. For one year since I realize my dream and passion, i have participated in many competitions in many fields such as international writing competition Trinity Writing, speaking competitions like EF Challenge (Top 44) , video-making contest PLURAL+, 1st place in provincial traditional martial art contest... and the recent one in terms of entrepreneurship is won a full scholarship and merit award in Rocket Pitch Competition from YEA Camp (entrepreneurship camp held by Babson College). With those experience and knowledge, I understand the potential as well as the value of each field, which is promising for me to pursuit my dream. In medical field, I have worked at a local clinic as a pharmacist for over 4 years and thereby have a certain knowledge and experience in diagnosis, which is believed to make my project more credible. However, as I have lived in a developing country for 17 years, I understand the difficulties residents in my country might have according to medical and emergency. This somehow inspired me to come up with this conceptual idea.

Hi Loc, I was so impressed by your idea. It's really clear, with detailed information. Keep your passion for starting up your own business as, personally, I think that you have the potential to achieve that ambition.
Just a recommendation for your idea: the main reason why ambulances are never on time is the so-called traffic jam (in my opinion, I don't think that is an acceptable explanation for being late). So you should establish your own centre which is in charge of emergency services (sending ambulances to patients and transporting them to the nearest hospital), instead of letting it be used by hospitals.

Time waits for no one :( it never does. Again, each month, time takes someone I know in my hometown, brings them to death. This is not because they have a terminal illness, just because the ambulances were not on time and their relatives didn't know how to make a first-aid or what medicine they would use. I've mourned but this would never be enough, so I was inspired to create something that could help people in that case. Please vote for me! For a backdoor for your life!
