POUTRY FARMING

POULTRY FARMING is an idea which was born out of the desire to solve the problem of food shortage in the country and world at large. If you have ever live a life that when you eat, you cant help but imagine were the next meal will come from to the extent that you could no longer figure out what the taste of the present meal is like. It is with these enthusiasms that I fall in love with agriculture (Anima Farming to be precise). This farm will possess a feature that will distinguish it from others and competitors as well. The goal will not be for profit making though the need to generate profit will not be disregarded. The goal will be: AFFORDABLE FOOD FOR ALL What are the feature. They include; 1. Grain farming: Bird Feed are the most cost challenging aspect of poultry farm, by farming our own grains for our feed production we will be able to sale these birds at a price that will be very economic friendly for the POOR 2. Feed processing: farming our grain alone does not make the feed affordable for us but going to the length of processing our own feed will do just fine, by implication we will not have need to buy feed from vendors 3. Meat processing machines: We will also process our product to finishing so as have a ready for consumption product by these we will be able to make more profits and pay more staffs thereby reducing poverty through employing more hands. 4. Charity: having in mind the essence of life we also intend to perform a societal responsibility by initiating a programme called ONE-CHILD-ONE-EGG-ONE-DAY. This programme is geared towards eliminating diseases caused by malnutrition.

The World Food Programme has these to say about hunger 1. Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth. 2. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. 3. Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest prevalence (percentage of population) of hunger. One person in four there is undernourished. 4. 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone. 5. WFP calculates that US$3.2 billion is needed per year to reach all 66 million hungry school-age children. What do we do? The best way forward is INDUSTRIAL FARMING, note that you dont just eat but eat in the right proportion and variety. Even eating only egg every day has a disadvantage that is the reason behind poultry farm. We will farm egg, meat, grain and even with time expand to fish farming, and our produce will go a long way into bridging the above mention situation. The other implication are job opportunities for our workers, economic growth for the country, lastly as they say charity begins at home, the underage children of the immediate society will be the first beneficiaries of this project. To measure our success will be our dependent on the life of the business and its growth. When we gain popularity and every house hold talk about CHICKEN EMPIRE then that means we are solving their problems and the United Nations Sustainable Development goals 1 and 2 (Zero poverty and Zero Hunger) is being taken care of. We shall start with Nigeria as a case study with the plan to reach the world most especially Western Asia were the case is high than any other in the world.

We have done and experimental research by actually raising a too set of birds from a day old (doc) to maturity, and sale, this we did to have firsthand information and to be sure of our need to run the business.
With the income generated from the demo we were able to secure a land which is too small for the project.
In reality the term we are in the future but for now it is a one-man experiment for I plan to bring in investors, partners who will work base on commission and also make a living through this project. Market plan, Target market, even farm location all have been done.
The present limitation is funding, which efforts have been made through micro-finance cooperatives but conditions and not friendly.

With the trend of event were there have been a rapid decrease in red meat (Beaf, Chevon etc) consumption while increase in white meat (Chicken etc) consumption.

My experience of poverty while growing up, I realize that a man should live in three ways: 1. You should produce a product or 2. Sale another persons product to make profit or 3. You provide somebody else with your service for survival. Through any of these means a man must survive away from poverty. In contemporary if you can solve your own problem then use the same approach to solve other on the long run it will become your means of livelihood. I have not only experienced hunger, but severe poverty and malnutrition was also my experience. I am 27 years old, a professional teacher graduated from College of Education Zuba, Abuja. Was 19 years when I sponsored myself through that school. It was really tough but I was conquerors. Now I work with Forlyon Technologies Lts, as Secretary/ICT personnel to raise money and go into farming, considering the salary, it will take a long time, though I am very good at what I do presently. My discipline is Mathematics and Computer Science
