RECYCLING PLASTIC BOTTLES INTO CLOTHES.

Published on July 25, 2016 um 23:24

Explain your idea in details:

The main objective of the business will be recycling plastic bottle waste into polyester clothes, it will include buying plastic bottles from individual road side pickers or companies who deal with plastic bottle business. After the collection of the plastic bottles, they will be sorted out according to their colors in order to have different thread colors, removing of bottle caps and other unwanted materials. The plastic bottles will be cut into small pieces then put into a machine which will melt the plastic into larva form, the larva form will pass through a shower like metal to make a thread shape [yarn] ,at that process the yarn will be blown by wind then the yarn will pass into Polyester Embroidery Machine and the sewing process will begin to make clothes. The sewing process needs sewing machines to accomplish the work.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

The business will increase employment to the local community from plastic bottles suppliers to cloth makers thus raising their living standards of people and help in eradicating poverty, the business will also help in country development through tax, not only tax but citizens will get quality products made from recycled plastic bottles thus decreasing the need to import second hand clothes for resale. The business will target all people's of the society from small to big, low income people to high income people, because cloth is among human basic needs. I have an experience in recycling waste into products and it is what i love, this will be a great success to me. Clothes are needed by humans for various purposes and by doing so the business will strive to ensure it produces quality products to capture the market. The company income will be generated into two ways, 1. by selling clothes 2. by selling polyester threads to individuals and other companies, also the recycled bottles can be used to make other products such as construction products which it is an advantage to the business where the business will be able to produce it's own construction materials.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The business plans to work closely with the government through small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) through their incubator program, Ministry of industries and National Economic Empowerment  Council  (NEEC). The company revenue sources will be selling of clothes, also in the near future it will also produce other products made from recycling plastic bottles like construction materials and house hold products in order to increase company revenue. The company will sell clothes directly to local and international wholesalers. Apart from clothes, the company aims at manufacturing carpets, car seat covers, construction materials and household products. Since the business is still on planning stage it will take a loan from the bank to finance some machinery also it will allow investment from individuals through dividents which will consist 30%.

This is a great idea Jacob.I am just concerned about how are you going to generate revenue from this idea.Yes , you are talking about Africans benefiting from from clothes made out of plastic which I have to say they will not be able to afford your product because your costs might exceed the price of your product or the price of the product might just be too expensive for most ordinary Africans, but what you can do is when u have implemented your idea, take your product to the fashion industry...If you are creative enough u can bloom in that market.I believe your product can revolutionize fashion and make you good money in return. And don't compromise quality.
