1. Please, tell us a bit about yourself: where are you from and what is your background?

I am a young passionate Nigerian entrepreneur, doing a BSc in chemistry from the university of Calabar, and have a diploma in English from World English Institute, with several entrepreneurship certifications from African managers Institute. I am an experienced entrepreneur that have started various food businesses, and currently undergoing diploma training in agri-business, green house farming, and aquaponic farming.
My journey into entrepreneurship is as a result of two factors; my friends and my passion.
I have been a debater from my hundred level, and there I met proactive and progressive thinking minds, who were so outraged with the situation of things in our country and we engaged ourselves talking about this issues.
But for me, there was something beyond just talking and that was entrepreneurship for me, the place of bringing solutions to the identified issues.
Also, my passion played a major role, I have always been proactive to issues and this had made me start risky and demanding life endeavors and I realized that entrepreneurship needed such virtue.

2. Can you describe your idea or project in two sentences?

Virtual farm seeks to become the first digital farm in Africa, where users can buy seed cheaply online, saw it online, nurture it online and harvest it online within a month of sowing or through use of simple SMS codes(SMS Farming).

3. How did you get your idea or concept?

I was motivated by a journal I read which stated the gross undernourishment and hunger in Africa and the pool of young people from agriculture towards white collar jobs. I felt burdened to change the narrative and virtual farm became the means.

4. What is unique about your idea/project and how does it benefit mankind?

The use of the app for farming and SMS farming. The benefit is alarming but most importantly is that it brings the farm to our finger tips, hence giving ease, convenience and saving cost.

5. Describe yourself as an entrepreneur in one sentence

A daring and innovative entrepreneur.

6. How do you deal with people that doubt your abilities/initiatives?

I ensure I know why they doubt, so I can use it to my own benefit.

7. Where does your passion lie?

Agriculture.

 8. What are you afraid of or what keeps you up at night?

Mediocrity.

9. According to you, money is a synonym for.....

Value.

10. If you could rid the world of three things, what would they be?

  1. Hunger
  2. Poverty
  3. Illiteracy

11. What are the benefits you take from the Entrepreneurship Campus?

While there are many things that one stands to gain by participating in Entrepreneurship campus, for me the following are my prior reasons.
It gives me the opportunity to learn, relearn and unlearn. In the world of entrepreneurship, this statement becomes basic, as it is a fast evolving environment, and that which held true yesterday may not be today, this is why a program of this sort becomes pertinent for me.
Also, It gives the opportunity to network with like minds. These network of other entrepreneurs has acted as a catalyst of inspiration as one gets motivated by the stories and achievements of other entrepreneurs. In such spirited atmosphere, effective collaborations and partnerships are formed with other ventures and we mutually move ahead.
Finally not forgetting to mention the avalanche of exposure that the program will offer me and my venture, both nationally and internationally. To this end, I participate.

12. What do you like more about the Entrepreneurship Campus?

The cordial relationship inherent between other contestants. I doubt I have seen any other contest that has such.

13. Which idea/project do you like most?

Soch
