Glory is an environmental management consultant and sustainable development advocate with over 8 years experience within the nonprofits and private organizations dealing with environmental policy research, policy reform advocacy, and stakeholder engagement for promotion of environmental friendly development. She has contributed remarkably on issues of climate change, renewable energy development, natural resources conservation, agriculture, and water and sanitation management in Nigeria and beyond.
Glory has received some notable academic and non-academic fellowships which has helped shape her career and built her capacity to pursue her dream. In 2013, Glory received the prestigious Netherlands Fellowship Programme (Now Orange Knowledge Programme) to pursue a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences with specialization in environmental planning and management from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, Netherlands, which she completed in 2015. Later that year, she was awarded the CEWAS Scholarship for Developing Country participants to participate in the Start-up Programme for Water, Sanitation and Natural Resources Management Entrepreneurs organized by the International Centre for Water Management Services, Willisau, Switzerland, which she completed in 2016.
Glory has high interest in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In July 2017, she was admitted as a participant at the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States. This rare privilege gave her the opportunity to participate in several side events that built her capacity on effective strategies for implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the past, Glory had also participated in several other capacity and leadership development programmes such as GOTNI Youth Leadership Conference, LEAP-Africa Youth Empowerment Programme, NITDA ICT Youth Empowerment Summit, National Youth Conference on Climate Change, etc.
Glory is a passionate advocate for youth capacity development, participation and inclusion of young people in policies and decision making. She was one of the pioneers of youth climate change activism in Nigeria and was actively involved in advocacy for gender and youth mainstreaming in the climate change mitigation and adaptation programmes of Nigeria. She believes that young people are catalyst and drivers of sustainable development; therefore, investing in programmes and projects that improve their well-being, health and education would bring a tenfold economic benefit to the country
