Inspired Hope -A Mobile School for Street Children

Inspired Hope is a mobile school with the intent to make a positive impact in the lives of street children through education and inspiration. The main objective of this project is to help change the mindset of these children and help them realize that there have better options than leaving on the streets. Many of these street children are talented and our aim is to give them hope, re-introduce them to the economy and society and help them see life differently. Our areas of focus will be training the street children on the Arts, Sports, Science & Technology. The training will be provided by professionals and volunteers from different disciplines such as Social workers, teachers, counselors, artists, entertainers, sportsmen etc. as well as non-profit, government, private and religious organizations. These individuals will help plan and participate in initiatives or projects that will improve the childrens capabilities such as teaching, mentoring counseling and other. Inspired Hope will be mobile -in the form of buses with interiors more similar to a classroom environment; with tables, chairs, computers, educational materials and others. The main reason of being mobile is to be able to go around the streets in the country; where the streets children are normally found. We found it better to engage with these children in places where they feel comfortable and in a caring manner than forcing them into homes/schools. We will partner with organizations like Childline Botswana and SOS which will accommodate the children after being taken away from the streets; but we will continue to engage and inspire them. Our dream is to have our own childrens home in the future. Inspired Hope mainly supports two of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); that is MDG 1: Eradicate Extreme Poverty and hunger and MDG 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education.
