Rosemary Olive Mbone Enie is a Cameroonian Geologist, Environmentalist, Eco-community Builder, Social Environmental Entrepreneur (SEE) and Gender/Childhood Ambassador, with over 31 years professional experience within the Africa Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Environmental Management and Education Sector.
She is a dynamic trainer with 26years’ experience in the Gender and Development sector and has led several Pan African NGOs within the Executive capacity. In the past 22 years, she has been actively involved in the International Climate Change Negotiations, promoting climate action, environmental leadership and green economic development.
Olive has initiated several Pan African projects such as the Pan Africa Climate Education (PACE) Centre- Ghana, Society for Women Empowerment Education and Training (SWEET) Africa Foundation, Women Environment & Climate Action Network (WECAN) Africa Initiative, Tunza Afrika Program (TAP), Pan Africa Eco-communities Network (PEN) Initiative and Maasai Association for Technology & Enterprise (MATE) Tanzania. Ms. Mbone Enie is an advisory board member for several international organizations including the Women’s Earth Alliance (WEA) USA, Women Earth and Climate Caucus (WECC) USA, Climate Change Network (CCN) Nigeria.
She was nominated exceptional women representing Africa for the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Program of the European Union (EU), Women Actors of Development, Women International Day Celebration, March 7th 2014, Brussels, Belgium. Since 2012, Olive has been involved in global environmental leadership programs such as the Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) Training at Sieben Linden Ecovillage- Germany, August/September 2012, Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program, University of California (UC), Berkeley- USA, June/July 2013, Transition to Resilience at Findhorn Foundation-Scotland, March 2014 and the Global Ecovillage Summit (GES), Dakar-Senegal, December 2014.
Rosemary has published over 50 technical/policy papers, presented and attended several international conferences, seminars, forums, symposiums etc in Africa, Europe, North and Central America and Asia. Her publications have been within the field of Climate Change, Geology, Mining, Tourism, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Environmental Management, Education and Green Economic Development. She is the Founder of the Women Environment & Climate Action Network (WECAN) Africa Initiative, Ambassador for the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) Africa and was on the first GEN Africa board. She served as Executive Director of the Ikra Educational Training Centre (IETC) Tanzania. She also serves as, advisory member of Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management with RisXceL UK. She is the Founder of Cameroon Vision (CAMVISION) Trust 1998, Co-founded the Salama Heritage Ecovillage (SHE) 2014 and Elite Ventures Africa Limited.
SHE Tanzania in June 2019 received the Best NGO Leadership Award for East Africa under her leadership. Ms Mbone Enie is a Childhood Ambassador for the Global Childhood Decade 2012-2022. She currently serves as the Founder/CEO for Salama Heritage Ecovillage (SHE) Africa based in Kigali Rwanda
