Ann Grace Apiita holds a Master of Science in Climate Change, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex, UK. A certificate in sustainable finance for policymakers to achieve climate policy, Public and Third Sector Academy (P3SA) for Sustainable Finance, from the University of Oxford (UK), a BA in tourism degree (focused on biodiversity conservation) from Makerere University, Uganda (2002), and a postgraduate diploma in project management from Uganda management institute, (2010). Ann Grace is fellow having completed a six-month global entrepreneurship/social impact IDEX Accelerator training programme in Bangalore India, (2015).
She has ten years relevant experience in international development at the intersection of providing project management services, institutional capacity development, business development, partnership, knowledge management, gender sensitivity in energy governance, environmental sustainability, and climate change gained in East Africa, South Asia, and Europe to support communities meet their socio-economic needs without degrading the environment. Ann Grace has also worked with women and youth to promote entrepreneurial learning and business development.
Since 2018 until now, she continues to provide technical advisory services and strategic support in decentralizing energy under a governance programme that collaborates with the state and non-state actors, at the German International Development Corporation in Uganda (GIZ).
