Hi Ngore,

I really like your idea of harnessing rain for household use. Your idea resonates with me because we are working on the same SDG! Similar to yours, my idea cannot be implemented in a single step. So I am working on a visual aid not only to present all the steps but also to share important facts and figures. Theres still time and space for us to polish our pages. It would be great for you to give it a go!

Sincerely,

Kate Bradley

Hi Egbe,

I enjoyed reading over your project, especially the part about doing the first trial run. Its cool because I have recently completed mine for LifeFilters2Go. I also praise you for initiating programmes for farmers. I know how important they are for farmers of all ages. Last year, I launched a School Farm at Ban Wiang Wai School, which is nestled in an rural community and surrounded by fruit plantations. Since then, the agricultural teacher, students, and I have tried different crops, but quickly realised that the farm isnt big enough. So no matter what we plant, there isnt enough produce for school lunches, much less for sale in the local market! So now we are trying to further enhance the farms programme by teaching organic farming practices. It is more educational than entrepreneurial. To make the long story short, your idea resonates with me. And I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Cheers,

Kate Bradley

PS: Thank you for asking the question about some investors or stakeholders who can help taking this idea forward...

I wasn't familiar with the term, 'stakeholder,' so I had to look it up!

According to Business Dictionary, a stakeholder is "A person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an organization.
Stakeholders can affect or be affected by the organization's actions, objectives and policies. Some examples of key stakeholders are creditors, directors, employees, government (and its agencies), owners (shareholders), suppliers, unions, and the community from which the business draws its resources. Not all stakeholders are equal. A company's customers are entitled to fair trading practices but they are not entitled to the same consideration as the company's employees."

Ok. I think I have to map this out. Do you have any suggestions?

@TeamM3N, thank you so much for your questions regarding my past experience in business competitions. Yes, this is my first try in this type of competition. I have entered another competition, called the Mark Metherell 87 Service Challenge, and it emphasises service, rather than entrepreneurship. Nevertheless, I still added the latter to my proposal (through the School Shop) so that my initiatives would be more sustainable. I was able to learn how to run a profitable business from both teacher and students who had already been operating the shop at Ban Wiang Wai School for three years. I have never studied entrepreneurship through online modules, nor have I interacted with so many young entrepreneurs from so many different countries! Reading over all the published ideas and reaching out to their creators around the world have been an eye-opening experience! And you? Have you ever entered in this type of competition?

Hi Chinonso,

Thank you so much for offering to put me in contact with someone who specialises in water filtration technology. Yes, I will email you shortly! Is there anything I can do to help you? But I'm afraid that my expertise is reading, writing, and editing. Entrepreneurship is quite new to me, and I am learning as I go...

Hi Nawranth,

I agree with you about the importance of 'function,' in business; however, 'money' is still an important factor because, without it, business cannot function. Consequently, to ensure sustainability, we need to consider both factors carefully.

Best,

Kate Bradley

Hi again,

Thank you for your question about what Ive done to improve my idea over the course of this competition. As I was looking over all of the published ideas, I was especially drawn to those with visual aids. I also realised that the details about workshop organisation, startup costs, production materials & methods, and expansion plans were disorganised. So I decided to utilise Picktochart (a web-based infographic application) to present them more clearly. Additionally, as I was watching some of the videos, I felt the need to redo mine. I have so many clips of my preliminary research, trial run of production process, and product testing, but I edited and subtitled the only ones with LifeFilters2Go location and Workshop Leaders. I should try to add the other clips to my video soon. What about you? Have you been polishing your original idea?
