As part of my project we had carried out an activity that I want to share with you: Transformational Leadership of Principals and the Professional Learning Community: An Analysis
A transformational leader brings a new way of looking at the organization - he or she conveys to his or her team a vision for the future and what the organization could and should be. This leadership style has four main characteristics: charisma/idealized influence, motivation and inspiration, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration for each collaborator. Transformational leadership is considered particularly effective in improving organizational performance, but also in improving employee well-being. In particular, it promotes a strong social identity within the work team.
Transforming the organization into action
The third attribute we notice in the transformational leader is his ability to implement change in a dynamic of continuous renewal of practices, modes of operation and means. This talent allows him to take full advantage of the benefits of challenging the status quo, integrating new organizational learning and the resulting innovation.
One would think that this ability to mobilize would be found among the majority of executives. However, the transformational leader is clearly distinguished by his understanding of the interactions between people, areas of resistance and areas of potential. This talent as a social architect makes it possible to put his change project into practice by putting his troops into action.
The transformational leader capitalizes on diversity by leveraging individual strengths and talents for collective enrichment, which encourages the emergence of new ideas and more robust solutions.
