Monitoring and evaluation plan
a. Follow-up
Monitoring will be carried out through field visits during the implementation of the project. Monitoring is participatory, i.e. it will be done with the Alumni Yali team and the donor. Exchanges with project beneficiaries allow relevant questions to be asked and views to be assessed on the progress of the project (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, GAP on peace education, non-violent cohabitation, conflict resolution and transformation in targeted areas). This will also make it possible to
suggest or make recommendations on possible corrections and innovations needed to improve.
Gender mainstreaming
The Education for Participatory Governance, Peace in Schools and Communities project will use the positive masculinity approach with an emphasis on female leadership to have young female leaders in both school governance and peace brigades and peaceful cohabitation mechanisms. To this end, if roles are shared in a gender-sensitive way, the understanding of the gender concept will be positively addressed at the community level when in practice young girls in school brigades are not simply implementers but actors of behaviour change for sustainable development in a non-violent environment.
In the cities targeted by the project there are other local structures and NGOs with similar actions and with which we will carry out complementary actions for the benefit of the local population. The role of the funder will be to provide funding to the Alumni Yali groups and the evaluation of the progress of activities. School brigades will play a major role in disseminating messages on participation in public governance, peace and peaceful coexistence, conflict prevention and resolution at the grassroots level while involving all social strata.
To this end, the implementing organization (Alumni Yali):
- Will take care of the technical and logistical aspects of the project in collaboration with the beneficiaries of the actions;
- The implementation of all project activities in the cities targeted by the project;
- Design and develop the themes for the training modules;
- It will monitor and evaluate the impact of project activities and the change it has brought about at the community level;
Project Management Implementation Plan
The implementation of the project will be based on the information-education-communication (IEC) methodology through a strong awareness and education campaign that consists in transmitting to the beneficiaries of the action new information and knowledge on the prevention, management and peaceful resolution of social conflicts as well as public management values in the community.
The Alumni Yali submitting bids for this project will work in collaboration with international organizations, civil society organizations, grassroots organizations, structures for the promotion of good governance, conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
To this end, the implementing organization (Alumni Yali):
Functioning of the children's consultation cells
These are civic clubs for primary and secondary school students that will be created in private and public schools in Togo's 6 regions to give students the opportunity to be up to date on civic values, democratic culture and leadership skills. The cells are true incubators of informed and committed citizens who become agents of change and pioneers of local development in their communities.
The distribution of responsibilities between the structures involved in the execution and having in common a coordination of activities, of varied experience and competence.
