Quotes to Motivate Yourself during Your Entrepreneurial Journey
Published on: 18.04.2018
The great thing about entrepreneurship is that it is possible in numerous sectors and fields. Therefore, even the motivational words and quotes that we find in books, movies, or speeches and talks apply to young aspiring entrepreneurs in all fields. Today we are sharing with you seven quotes from ‘Dead Poets Society’ a cult film from the late 80 on a teacher that inspires his students to seize the moment and to live bold and beautiful lives and to do their own thing.
“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.”
Entrepreneurial ideas come as a solution from the need to improve something in your city or community. No one knows if your idea is going to be the ‘next big thing’, but you need to try. Trust yourself and don’t hear people that say you can’t do it. If you don’t try, you may regret it in the future.
“Just when you think you know something, you have to look at in another way. Even though it may seem silly or wrong, you must try.”
“The initial idea is only a heading, a first indication of where we can start looking for the ingredients that should ultimately yield an idea concept. I regard it as the modeling clay out of which you can create many forms,” Professor Gunter Faltin says in the first of our free training courses.
“There’s a time for daring and there’s a time for caution, and a wise man understands which is called for.”
Experience will teach you better, but at some moments you have to trust your gut feeling.
“When you read, don’t just consider what the author thinks, consider what you think.”
The way how each of us implements the knowledge that we gain depends on our contexts. The latter is often defined by social, cultural, economic, and political factors. These elements make us think about what we read or hear. Contexts shape our lives, and at the same time, it is a crucial element that defines the implementation of an idea. Think about it. There can be hundreds of thousands of people in the world thinking about the same idea right now. The fact that it does not succeed in one place, it doesn’t mean that all the people that try it will have the same result.
“Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all.”
Entrepreneurship is not easy. You may have a great idea, but it’s only one percent of the process. Implementation is at the same time the most important and difficult part. If you wait, someone else will make it happen.
“And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for…you are here — that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?”
The world we live in is calling on for better healthcare, rule of law, innovative and renewable energy sources, equality, social entrepreneurship and a lot of passion and dedication to tackling these issues. “Carpe, carpe. Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”
