What Is the Key to Ending World Hunger?

The amount of food that is globally produced is enough to feed all the world’s population, yet more than 800 million people are hungry. While the world population is growing, world hunger is on the rise too. On the other hand, huge amounts of food are thrown away every day all over the world. During the last week a senior UN official said that number of people around the world who were severely hungry has risen from 80 million in 2015 to 124 million in 2017, Al Jazeera reported, and conflicts seem to have a key impact on these concerning figures. Yet the situation deteriorated even in peaceful areas due to economic problems and climate change.

GOAL 2 (SDG2) End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

There are several ways that can help to end world hunger, but agriculture sustainability is the most important

Improving agriculture. In several parts of the world agriculture is the only source of profit and at the same time, the key sector to tackle hunger and food scarcity. Farmers in these areas face numerous challenges that keep them from selling their products. Distance from major markets, lack of knowledge and skills to improve and better manage their harvest. Lack of access to financial aid schemes and support programs, competition are only a few of the struggles that these farmers face.
On the other hand, there are environmental factors such as drought, floods, and other weather conditions that seriously affect the sector. Farmers need to learn about agricultural sustainability. This means that they need to adapt to climate change, manage natural resources and to be prepared for possible natural disasters. All this can be achieved step by step. At first, it is necessary to provide access to quality education to people in poor communities, children, and adults.
Secondly, empowering women in agriculture. If women have equal access to resources, control over income, and ownership rights they can help to tackle world hunger.
Third, adopt practices that help with the conservation of natural resources.

Food wastages is a big concern. If all take conscious steps to conserve and preserve food, avoiding wastages as much as possible the globe will definetly curb the issues of hunger to a minimum level

A very small thing is here that will give us a thought for zero hunger and that is-
Like water fall from high potential energy to low potential energy, wind move from high pressure to low pressure and it doesn’t have any utilities. But if we use technology like wind turbines, hydroelectricity mills than we can use this GRADIENT to produce electricity.
Likewise in world we have a food gradient between rich and poor people. And if we use technology than we can surely gain a zero hunger era.

Post harvest losses are a major concern to farmers my country Nigeria. Mangoes, yams, tomatoes, vegetables of all kinds, rice, onions, fresh fish just to mention a few are lost to poor handling and storage after harvest. To ensure enough food supply for the world, solutions have to be brought to reduce post harvest losses here and all over the world where such problems exist.

we live in a very funny world where the poor walk for miles to find food and the wealthy walk for miles to digest food. this is brought about by the stringent rules and laws we have adopted. Governments, Botswana should consider reviewing land acquisition policies to easy it for the youth and the poor. The Rich are currently the only ones who acquire land easily and they only do so to support their lavish lifestyles instead of using it to farm and produce for their native countries and reducing Importation of food and cutting on the extremely high prices of food
